County fair nears halfway with many events

The 90th annual Warren County Fair has almost reached its midpoint — or perhaps, it’s Midway point.

Day Two – Warren General Hospital Day — featured the first public appearance of Katie Downs as 2021 Fair Queen, Diamond Rio in concert, the Cowboy Mounted Shooting exhibition, the opening of the Midway, and the milk chug.

Wednesday is Rouse Day, Senior Citizens Day, and Active Duty and Retired Military Day at the Fair,

Gates open at 8 a.m. with a discount for seniors and veterans.

The morning kicks off with rabbit judging and 4-H dairy showmanship at 9 a.m.

Also Wednesday morning are: draft horse and miniature horse show and judging at 9:30; 4-H and open dairy heifer and 4-H and open class beef show at 10; and children’s story hour at 11.

In the afternoon, the Fair will honor veterans at 12:30; the Midway will open at 1; the new Fair Queen and her Court will receive guests for photos and crafts from 2 to 3; there will be a horse clinic at 4; swine show and judging and the 4-H horse Fun Show are both at 5:30; the antique tractor pull starts at 6:30; the Aquatic Acrobatic Show goes on at 5, 7, and 9; and Ricky Nelson Remembered concert is at 7:30.
