Commissioners plan sessions to gather public feedback

The Warren County Commissioners have planned several meetings aimed at gathering public feedback.

The most pressing is a public meeting planned to gather feedback to discuss a change in polling places in Freehold Township. That meeting is set for Monday at 5 p.m. and will be held at the Freehold Township office located at 139 Lottsville Niobe Road.

Commissioner Jeff Eggleston said the session will “give the folks in Freehold an opportunity to provide feedback on the idea of moving the voting location to the Firehall instead of the township (building. The Commissioners want to make sure the community there has every opportunity to make their voices heard on the issue and make sure that their concerns are properly evaluated.”

A series of town halls have also been scheduled throughout the county over the next several weeks for the commissioners to provide feedback and ask questions.

The sessions kicked off Thursday night with a meeting in Mead Township. Future events include July 29 at the Pleasant Township building, Aug. 19 at the Conewango Township building, Aug. 26 at the Sugar Grove Borough building and Sept. 2 at the Limestone Township municipal building.

“These sessions have been incredibly helpful in getting more information on what’s going on in the communities around Warren County and making sure the citizens have a voice,” Eggleston said.

“The Commissioners have been happy with the attendance, the questions, and the serious concerns the community has brought forward during these sessions and feel they are a valuable tool in making decisions at the county level.”

Each meeting will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and include an initial discussion on the role of the county and current projects that are underway before shifting to public comment and engagement.

Starting at $3.50/week.
