‘Enforcer’ of meth ring still in jail

The “enforcer” of a Grand Valley methamphetamine ring — ‘The Farm’ — busted last year will remain behind bars pending his trial on federal drug charges.

A total of 16 individuals were indicted in connection with the operation back in September.

The place known as “The Farm” was located at 530 Hunter School Road.

When the charges were announced, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania Scott Brady said that investigators determined that Kevin Huet, 3427 Flat Rd. Grand Valley, was the network’s enforcer.

A federal judge ruled last month that Huet will remain detained pending trial.

“The evidence supports that the Defendant’s role in the alleged drug trafficking enterprise was as an enforcer and involved the use or threatened use of firearms,” the order states. “The Defendant’s possession of a grenade and altercation with law enforcement at the time of his arrest further heightens the threat to public safety.

“Based on the very significant weight of the evidence supporting the charges against the Defendant and other factors listed above, no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure the safety of the public.”

“This is not new,” Brady said last fall. “(We) see this in drug trafficking organizations all the time.”

Warren County law enforcement were instrumental in uncovering the operation, which Chief County Detective — now Sheriff — Brian Zeybel described as “run like a business.”

It took 18 months of daily intelligence updating to put the puzzle together.

The maximum punishment for all of the defendants is the same — up to life in prison — with maximum fine amounts varying but not less than $10 million.

Starting at $3.50/week.
