A Youngsville man has been charged with assaulting a juvenile.

Craig A. Conrad, 37, of Youngsville, faces charges of strangulation, simple assault, and harassment.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Jan. 31, the victim was allegedly tossed around a room by Conrad, suffering an injured tailbone, was slapped in the face, and was choked and unable to breathe “for at least five seconds.”

Police placed Conrad under arrest that same day without incident.

Conrad w as arraigned before District Justice Todd Woodin and released on $20,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12.
