The Pennsylvania General Assembly approved legislation to create Warren County in March, 1819. On Oct. 1, 1819, that legislation became official.

The public is invited to gather on Saturday to celebrate and honor 200 years of Warren County.

The Warren County Bicentennial Celebration will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Warren County Courthouse, 204 4th Ave, Warren. The event includes a food truck, live entertainment and a host of speakers.

The program for the event begins with the Youngsville High School Band performing The National Anthem followed by an invocation by Pastor Doug McCracken.

Warren County Commissioner Jeff Eggleston will deliver a proclamation and the Conewango Clippers Chorus will sing America the Beautiful.

Speakers at the event will be Congressman Glenn Thompson, Warren County Judge Maureen Skerda, City of Warren Mayor Maurice Cashman and County Commissioner Benjamin Kafferlin.

The Conewango Clippers Chorus will perform This Land is Mine followed by a benediction by Chaplain Marcus Briggs and God Bless America performed by the Youngsville High School Band.

A time capsule commemorating the occasion will be buried.
