ACC salutes its volunteers
The Allegheny Community Center held a luncheon for volunteers Friday, honoring volunteers with 300, 500 and 1,000 hours of service, and others with 15 to 27 years of service.
The 300-hour award recipients are Jim Bees, Nancy Benson, Don Cable, William Crooks, Marian Dashner, Debra Edling, JoAnn Greenawalt, Jan Haslet, Linda Lindsey, Skip Lindsey, Zora King, John Lyon, Edna MacLees, Donna Rickerson, Fred Stanton, Marvin Strickland, Marilee Sutton, Loraine Terry, Judi Wilson, Karen Wingard, Rennie Wingard and Russell Wingard.
The 500-hour recipients are Carol Elison, Zora King, Tony Ruzich, Gary Olson, Mary Lou Watt and Pat Williams.
Zelda Kittell was honored for 1,000 hours as a volunteer.
Beverly Callahan, Dick Campbell, David Cassidy, JoAnn Greenawalt, Marguerite Lyle, Theresa Rapp, Lois Stapfer and Reynolds Wingard received recognition for 15 years of service.
Donald Cable, Ruth Johnson and Zora King have 16 years of volunteer service, Janet Haslet, 18 years; Eugene Sanden, 19 years; Shirley Hitchcock, 20 years; Phyllis Bills, Jean Johnson, Irene Rice and Agnes Vandervort, 21 years; Claire Beardsley, Frances Cashman and Mamie Spear, 22 years; Dorothy Repine, 26 years; and Edna MacLees, 27 years.
The new Allegheny Volunteer Alliance replaces the former Warren Forest Retired Volunteer Program and accepts volunteers of any age instead of the 55 and older, and can be tailored to the needs of the community, rather than government mandates.
