A ‘Lot’ going on Friday at party in city
There’s a lot going on Friday at the city’s Mid-Town Lot.
On Friday, the Warren Public Library and the City of Warren will team up on a “Welcome Back to the Parking Lot” party from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
“The Oct. 30 event will be a great opportunity for everyone to become familiar with the use of the kiosks and to celebrate the parking lot that is now a much more attractive part of downtown Warren,” Library Public Relations Chairperson Pat Evans said.
City personnel, including City of Warren Police Chief Raymond Zydonik, will be in attendance and demonstrating the use of the new kiosks.
Other improvements that make the lot more user-friendly and secure include: new lighting, new painting, decorative fencing, and a covered drive-up area for lot patrons with mobility issues, according to a release from the library.
Complimentary soft pretzels, drinks, and bookmarks will be provided.
The bookmarks carry instructions for using the kiosk system and space to write down the license plate information required at the kiosks.
Door prizes of books and parking time will be provided by the city and the Warren Public Library Friends. Other door prizes include items contributed by downtown merchants.
The two grand prizes are vouchers for a full week of parking at the lot, contributed by the city.
“The finished parking lot provides easy access to the library for our patrons,” Evans said. “We are pleased to have the construction season behind us and are grateful that the city pursued the parking lot renovations and aesthetic improvements.”
