James Gruber

Jim was born in James-town, NY on August 18, 1939, the son of Arvid and Genevieve Firth Gruber. He was raised on a farm out-side of Lander, PA and gra-duated from Eisenhower High School in 1957.

Jim served two years in the U.S. Army and spent nearly 50 years living and working in California. He was a retired landscaper.

Jim loved horticulture and was known for growing beautiful orchids. He en-joyed traveling and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Recently Jim received the Humanitarian of the Year Award from his community.

He is survived by his brothers, Gene Gruber of Lander, PA; David (Toni) Gruber of Macedon, NY; sister, Joyce Henning of Wadsworth, OH; and close friend Larry Moore of Las Vegas, NV.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, sister-in-law Peggy Gruber and brother-in-law, Alton Henning.

Cremation has taken place in California.
