HALLOWEEN EVENTS:

Rouse Trick or Treat Tour: Thursday, Oct. 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. is the Rouse Trick or Treat Tour. There will be trick or treat stations, a pumpkin carving contest, music, face painting, games and a selfie station. Costumes are encouraged. The tour starts at the Suites at Rouse and ends at the Rouse Home. Register at www.rouse.org to help ensure there are enough supplies.

Otterbein Trunk or Treat: Saturday, Oct. 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Otterbein United Methodist Church (258 Dalrymple St., Pittsfield) will hold a trunk or treat event. The public is welcome to attend.

Free Methodist Trunk or Treat: Monday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. the Youngsville Free Methodist Church (179 Davis St.) is having a free Family Trunk or Treat Event. Come in costume and go trick or treating in a safe environment indoors. There will be candy, games and food. Youngsville Free Methodist Church is now accepting individually wrapped candy for the trunk or treat. A candy donation box is located in the lobby by the church office.

Kids Skate Party: Saturday, Oct. 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Russell Roller Rink (7385 Market St. Ext., Russell) will have a “Villains’ Kids Party.” The Enchanted Fairytale Troupe will join in the party with their most notorious villains. The cost is $10 in advance (online and a small transaction fee) or $12 at the door for each child. Skating parents cost $5 each. Costumes are encouraged but not required. There will be skating, face painting, games, coloring and cookie decorating.

BOROUGH NEWS

Halloween: Halloween hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, in the Youngsville Borough.

Leaf pick up: Leaf pick-up will begin Monday. The borough asks residents to please not rake leaves by the road until this time as the leaves can clog the storm drains.

Hometown Heroes Forms: Photo release forms for Round 6 of the Hometown Heroes Banner Project are available at the borough office. The deadline date for completed forms, photo, and check is Jan. 30. Downloadable photo release forms, overview letter and FAQ page are also available on homepage of the Youngsville Library’s webpage atYoungsvilleLibrary.org.

FUNDRAISERS

Gun Bingo: A gun bingo fundraiser will be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Garland Fire Hall. Doors open at 5 p.m.; bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. Those attending must be at least 18 years of age. The cost is $30 per ticket and tickets are required to attend. For tickets call 814-622-8729. Food is provided, alcohol is bring-your-own. There will be10 games of bingo minimum as well as side giveaways, 50/50 tickets and instant tickets. Guns are supplied by C&H Sports. Proceeds benefit the Garland Volunteer Fire Department and Wrightsville Volunteer Fire Department.

Fall Craft Show: A Fall Craft and Vendor Show will be held Saturday, October Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Warren County Christian School, 165 Mead Run Road, Youngsville. Browse at the free event which will feature wood crafts, vintage furniture and jewelry, wreaths and home decor items, flowers, hand-crafted blankets and other stitchery, baked goods, custom t-shirts, and various franchised vendors. Concessions will also be available.

MISCELLANEOUS NEWS

County Input Sessions: Public input is wanted to help determine the priorities for Warren County’s Comprehensive Plan. The comprehensive plan will set the vision and priorities in terms of policy and resource allocation for the county for the next 10-15 years. Input sessions are being held throughout the county.

Each meeting will be open house style so interested parties can attend anytime during the scheduled hours. The last two meeting dates are: Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Columbus Fire Department Social Hall in Columbus and Thursday, Oct. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Youngsville Borough Building in Youngsville, Pa. Senior EXPO: Friday, Oct. 28, the 2022 Senior EXPO will be held at the Youngsville Fire Department from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The EXPO offers seniors the opportunity to learn about services, activities, and information they may need or be interested in. Representatives from various organizations will be available to discuss their roles within the community, answer questions, and offer opportunities for senior citizens to get involved.
