PennDOT road maintenance
The following work is scheduled for this week on roads maintained by PennDOT: Spray patching on Buells Corners Rd. in Eldred Twp. and Old Rt. 77 in Spring Creek Twp.; Ditch cleaning on Miller Hill Rd. in Farmington Twp., Rt. 957 in Freehold Twp. and Rt. 62 in Limestone Twp.; Base repair on Scranton Hollow Rd. in Farmington Twp; Crack sealing on Rt. 957 in Sugar Grove and Farmington townships and shoulder grading at various locations in the county.
Driver license center closed
PennDOT says that all driver license and photo centers, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed Saturday through Monday in observance of Labor Day.
Bridge results
Lana Creal and Chick Bello came in first Monday evening at the YMCA with Laurie Curren and Richard Woodruff in second. Connie Lucia placed first Tuesday at the Allegheny Community Center and Phyllis Broadbent was second. At the Woman’s Club on Thursday, Jo Simonsen claimed top honors with Nan Cashman in second place.
Recording software change
Warren County Register & Recorder, Lisa Burkhouse has announced that the office will be switching to LANDEX recording software beginning Sept. 3. LANDEX provides recording services to almost half of the counties in Pennsylvania and comes highly recommended by colleagues throughout the state. All recording will stop on Friday, Aug 30 at noon to begin the transition. The office will not be able to process marriage licenses after that time. Recording is expected to resume Sept. 3.
