Parade lineup
Some additions have been made to Division 5 for Thursday’s Fourth of July Parade. Here’s a look at Division 5: Ellwood National Crankshaft, Ellwood National Forge, J’s Trailer Rental, Sheffield Pumpkin Festival, Kope Services, Northern PA Regional College, Jeannes Jamming Jeeps (Jeanne Whitling), North Warren VFD, Bent Run Brewery, Jamestown Macadam Corp. Retired ladies to meet
The Osram Sylvania lady retirees will meet at 1 p.m. on Friday at Bob Evans.
Fish-for-Free day
July 4 is a Fish-for-Free Day in Pennsylvania. From 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024, no fishing license is required to fish, however all other fishing regulations, including seasons and creel limits, apply. Complete fishing regulations can be viewed using the FishBoatPA mobile app or the PFBC website.
Caregivers Support Group won’t meet Thursday
The Thursday meeting of Caregivers Support Group will not be held this month due to the 4th of July holiday. Additionally, the Monday, July 15, noon meeting of the Caregivers Support Group will be a picnic at Betts Park. Please note the change of location for this meeting only. Produce Express
Second Harvest Produce Express will be at the Otterbein Global Methodist Church, 258 Dalrymple St., Pittsfield, on Tuesday, July 2. Food pick-up will begin promptly at 2:30 p.m. and 80 families will be served on a first come, first served basis. Everyone will need to re-register. Volunteer workers please arrive by 1:00 p.m.
Christian Women to meet
Jamestown-Warren Christian Women Village Missions Country Partners will meet Tuesday, July 9 at noon at the Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave. Jamestown. The program will include singers from the Jamestown Harmony Express Chorus and Pastor Todd Wentworth will provide music on the violin. Cost for lunch is $6. Bridge results
Sharon Rissel and Bill Kuppinger were first Monday at the YMCA with Lana Creal and Chick Bello in second. At the Allegheny Community Center on Tuesday, Connie Michell came in first and Bill Massa was second. Linda Jensen rose to the top on Thursday at the Woman’s Club and Jo Simonsen was second.
Class reunion
The Warren Area High School Class of 1984 will be holding the following events: Tour of Beaty and Warren Area High School, 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 3; Dinner at Eagles Club, 5 p.m., Friday, July 5; Happy hour at Cornerstone, Saturday, July 6, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Scholarship recipients
The Warren Zonta Club has announced its 2024 scholarship recipients. Several scholarships were awarded up to $1,000. Recipients include Elizabeth Phelps, who will study nursing at PennWest Clarion; Falyn Smith, attending the UPMC Jameson School of Nursing at UPMC Hamot; Winifred Wolf, who will be attending PennWest Edinboro to study early childhood education; Kaitlin Sleeman, who is attending Penn State Behrend studying Agribusiness Management; Kassidy Orinko, who will be attending Great Lake Institute of Technology to study diagnostic medical sonography and Koby Bradley, who attends the University of Pittsburgh and is studying in Africa.
Day Camp
The North Warren Presbyterian Church will be holding its day camp from July 29 through Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m, each day for children aged four through 12. Registration deadline is Sunday, July 21. For further information, call the church at (814) 723-5060.
