Academic Bowl win
The Warren Area High School Academic Bowl team started its tournament play with a nailbiting 60-52 victory on Thursday over Fredonia.
The Dragons were led by a strong showing from team captain Hailey Brush and Conner Zaffino, who each scored 20 points. The win was secured by a clutch toss-up answer from Benjamin Scott. Other Warren participants included Noel Alexander, Macy Winicki, Grady Corey, and Jacob Zaffino.
The Dragons, coached by Nate Sandberg, have a lot of time to prepare for their next match against Randolph on Feb. 7.
