The Newton Dinner Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug, 20. This month’s meeting will be an outdoor pizza party at the home of Carol Cornell.

Paws Along the River receives memorial donations

Paws Along the River has received the following memorial donations in July: in memory of Connor James English, in memory of Charles Nichols, in memory of James Confer, in memory of Caleb Hultman, in memory of James Confer, in memory of Nancy Morrison, in memory of Billy Eskeli, in memory of Cindy Agnew, in memory of Frank Shrefler, in memory of Marion Larson, in memory of Kevin Maney, in memory of Sally Marino and in memory of Bruno Vavala.

Third graders at Tidioute will receive dictionaries

Watson Grange met recently with Bob Hollabaugh, Master Protem, presiding. As a community service, dictionaries will again be presented to the third graders at Tidioute Charter School. A thank you was received from the local VA for the donation from the Grange. Election of officers resulted in the present ones remaining for another two-year term with the exception of the vacant assistant steward position being filled by Jacob Gambino and one Executive and Finance committee member whose terms had expired with Deanna Hollabaugh being elected to the Executive Committee and Bob Hollabaugh to the Finance. These are three-year terms. The three newly elected officers were installed by Kelly Van Ord. Watson Junior Grange will meet Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. and Watson Subordinate Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. with cookies for refreshments.
