Paws Along The River Human Society has reopened

The Paws Along The River Humane Society reopened to the public on Monday, June 8, at 12:30 p.m. and resumed regular hours at that time. Requirements and limits on the number of visitors at one time will be put into place. Visit www.pawsalongtheriver.org for more information.

Sheffield Area Hospitality Center reopened Monday

SHEFFIELD — The Sheffield Area Hospitality Center reopened Monday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The center will use safe distancing policies and all individuals entering must wear a mask. Participants will be required to consent to a temperature reading and sign a waiver upon entering the center. Everyone must schedule their attendance in advance. Activities are currently restricted to those that do not involve sharing items.

Paws and Shop Thrift Boutique asking for donations

The Paws and Shop Thrift Boutique is asking anyone who wants to donate gently used items to the thrift shop to make an appointment by calling 814-230-9216 to set up an appointment to donate.

Scavenger hunt added to Chapman State Park

For the month of June, a self-guided GPS scavenger hunt has been added to Chapman State Park. Those participating will need a GPS unit or smart phone to participate. The coordinates will not be found on geocaching.com as the scavenger hunt is temporary. Those participating should park in designated parking areas. The following coordinates will get participants started: N 41. 45.030; W 079. 10.353.

Ellington Town Picnic has been canceled for 2020

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Town Picnic Association has decided to cancel the 2020 Ellington Town Picnic. The 2021 picnic will be held Aug. 6-8, 2021.

Spring work bee thanks

Warren County Fire Services Board to meet Thursday

CHERRY GROVE — The Warren County Fire Services board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cherry Grove Fire Hall. Dinner will be at 7 p.m. with the meeting to follow. Members are asked to attend.

Conewango Township annual clean-up set Friday

Conewango Township will hold its annual residential clean-up from 2-6 p.m. Friday, June 12, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the township building, 4 Fireman St., Starbrick. Residents may dispose of unwanted household items and appliances, but not commercial waste, tires, electronics, hazardous waste, yard waste, propane tanks, or batteries. The cost is $10 per car load and $20 per truck or trailer load. The fees help offset the cost of roll-off containers used to collect the materials. Questions about what items may be accepted may be directed to the Township Secretary at 814-723-6410 or conewangotownship@gmail.com. Conewango Township reserves the right to reject any unsuitable items.
