Pittsfield bridge closed by PennDOT due to ‘structural concerns’

A Warren County bridge is closed after state officials deemed it unsafe over "deck deterioration and structural concerns." The bridge is located over Kane Road, outside of Garland, and carries the road over the Brokenstraw Creek. The closure was announced by PennDOT on Friday. PennDOT said its decision was made stemming from "deck deterioration and structural concerns discovered during a recent inspection (and) in the interest of public safety." Warren City Council has approved a letter to the Warren County School District in opposition to a proposal that would see students taken from within the city limits and transported to outlying schools. When public notice of a fire in Grand Valley went out Sunday afternoon, the location showed up as Grand Valley Fire Department — 12910 Route 27. Firefighters spent more than three hours fighting a fire at that address. But, it wasn't at their own building, which is 12864 Route 27.
