Firearms act violation. On Sept. 21, 2015, at 3:30 p.m., a known 55-year-old male, of Corry, falsified information when attempting to obtain a firearm from C&H Sports. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Pittsfield Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police reported that on Jan. 20 at 5:01 a.m. a 1994 Ford Ranger, driven by Steven P. Harrah, 24, Oil City, was traveling north on Sr. 27 at the intersection with Mickle Hill Rd and following two PennDOT plow trucks. The first PennDOT truck, driven by Francis R. Byers, Jr., 48, Spring Creek, was attempting to make a left turn onto Mickle Hill Rd. Harrah could not slow in time and entered the oncoming lane and struck Byers’ plow truck. Both men were uninjured. Harrah’s vehicle was towed from the scene by Thompson’s Garage.

Pleasant Twp.

Theft. Warren-based state police reported that a 79-year-old female, Irvine, was scammed out of a large amount of money by an unknown subject who called her and told her she had won a car and several million dollars but needed to send money to cover taxes and fees.

Spring Creek

Criminal mischief. Warren-based state police reported that sometime between Jan. 16 at 3 p.m. and Jan. 26 at 10:30 a.m someone cut a section of chain link fence that was securing a gate across a private driveway at a camp owned owned by Jeffrey Eugene Buie, 43, Girard, located on Brokenstraw Lane.

Chautauqua Co.

Narcotics investigation. The investigation into the sales and trafficking of illegal narcotic drugs in the Jamestown area has left to members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the NSYP CNET to execute a search warrant at 226 Crossman St. at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday. Entry was gained into the location with the assistance of the Jamestown Police Department’s SWAT team and once inside investigators found more than 35 grams of crack cocaine and a quantity of cash. Investigators charged David E. Brown, 25, Jamestown, with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal using drug paraphernalia. Brown is currently being held in the city jail awaiting arraignment.

DUI. City of Warren police reported that Jacob Porter, 23, Warren, was charged with DUI general impairment, DUI unsafe driving, DUI .16 percent or higher, driving vehicle at safe speed, careless driving, DUI combination alcohol and controlled substances and open container on Jan. 20 following a traffic accident at Madison Avenue and Dartmouth Street.

Disorderly conduct. City of Warren police reported that Joshua Dorotics, 38, Donald Foust, 42, and Aaron Stearns, 35, all of Warren, were cited for disorderly conduct unreasonable noise on Jan. 24 after police responded to a report of loud music that could be heard from the street at 10:20 p.m. after several complaints.

Disorderly conduct. City of Warren police reported that Christine Csicsek, 52, Warren, was cited for disorderly conduct on Jan. 24 after police responded to several reports of loud noise coming from her apartment at 11:06 p.m.

Crash. Corry-based state police report that at 11:09 a.m. on Jan. 26, Melvin E. Baccus, 78, Columbus, was traveling east on Route 77, just west of Summit Road in a 2000 Dodge 2500. Police said he drove over a build-up of slush on the right edge of the roadway, which caused the truck to be pulled off the roadway and strike a guide rail with its front end. Police said the vehicle then flipped forward airborne over an embankment, and landed on its roof. Police said Baccus suffered minor injuries and refused treatment. No citations were filed.

Brokenstraw Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police report that at 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 21, Crystal R. Vogen, 30, Toledo, Ohio, was traveling east on Route 6, approximately one-half mile west of Route 62 when her 1998 Dodge Durango left the roadway, struck a guide rail and re-entered the right lane of the roadway. The vehicle spun counter-clockwise and struck a concrete divider, continued to spin counter-clockwise until it came to rest facing west in the eastbound left lane. She was transported to Warren General Hospital by Youngsville ambulance, and cited with an unspecified violation.

Farmington Twp.

Harassment. Warren-based state police report that at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 23, a known male, 35, Panama, N.Y., a known male, 56, Russell, and a known female, 56, Russell, became invovled in a verbal argument which turned physical. Charges for harassment were filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office. Police did not release the names of the accused.

Animal cruelty. According to Warren-based state police, an investigation is underway for an alleged incident that occurred on Jan. 11 near Jackson Avenue Extension involving a known 15-year-old male. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.

DUI. City of Warren police reported that Cheyanne Gelormini, 19, Tiona, was charged with DUI, DUI minors first offense, driving vehicle at safe speed and underage drinking on Jan. 22 following a traffic stop on Jan. 1.

Underage drinking. City of Warren police reported that Leah Hamilton, 18, Kane, was cited for underage drinking in relation to the previous incident.

Possession of marijuana. City of Warren police reported that Earl Zeigler, 41, Mayville, N.Y., was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and Troy Lindell, 45, Clarendon, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called to assist probation with an incident.

DUI. City of Warren police reported that James Collins, 53, Warren, was charged with DUI, DUI highest rate, and periods requiring headlamps on Jan. 21 following a traffic stop on Jan. 16.

Crash. City of Warren police reported that Rachel O’Keefe, 19, Warren, was cited for operating a vehicle without financial responsibility and driving vehicle at safe speed following a traffic accident at Jackson Avenue and Conewango Avenue on Jan. 17.

Theft by unlawful taking. City of Warren police reported that Victoria Wolford, 19, Warren, was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property on Jan. 20 following an investigation into the theft of a gift card from a group home.

Crash. City of Warren police reported that Matthew Lang, 20, Baldwin, N.Y., was cited for driving at safe speed on Jan. 18 following a two-vehicle accident at Fourth Avenue and Market Street.

Harassment. City of Warren police reported that Kameron Osbourne, 18, Warren, was cited for harassment on Jan. 9 after police responded to a report of a domestic dispute.

Crash. City of Warren police reported that Dylon James, 21, Tiona, was cited for driving a vehicle at a safe speed on Jan. 21 following a two car accident at Market Street and Sixth Avenue.

Disorderly conduct. City of Warren police reported that Nathan English, 33, Butler, was cited for harassment and Toles Hartman, 24, Kingston, Pa., was cited for disorderly conduct after police were called to a local establishment for disruptive customers who refused to leave.

Bad checks. According to Conewango Township police, on Sept. 6, 2015, Athena M. Rosequist, Warren, wrote a check for $218.84 at Valu Home Center in North Warren. Police said the check was later returned to the business indicating that there were insufficent funds in Rosequist’s account. Valu Home Center attempted to contact Rosequist numerous time including by sending her a certified bad check notice, police reported, but Rosequist allegedly never attempted to make restitution. Police charged Rosequist with bad checks for the violation.

Sugar Grove Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Jan. 18 at 2:07 p.m. on Pa. 69 north .5 miles north of Yankee Bush Rd. A 2014 Ford Fiesta, driven by Aaron N. Martin, 25, Warren, lost control traveling south on the snow covered roadway, causing the vehicle to travel 75 feet off the west berm striking a road sign. After impact, the vehicle continued an additional 30 feet, striking a gas meter. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Koebley’s Towing. Martin was not injured but was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Alarm. According to state police, police responded to an alarm at GameStop at 5:44 a.m. on Jan. 18. The alarm was discovered to be false, police said. GameStop was cited via NTC for control of alarm devices and automatic dialing devices through District Judge Laura Bauer for its fourth false alarm in a 12-consecutive month period.

Sugar Grove Borough

Found property. State police reported that at 11 a.m. on Jan. 16, a 26-inch bicycle was found at the intersection of Route 957 and Stillwater Road. The owner can claim the bicycle by contacting Warren-based state police and correctly identifying the bicycle.

Harassment. Warren Police reported that Krystal Beil, 21, Youngsville, was cited for harassment on Jan. 10 after police witnessed a loud domestic dispute on Third Ave. and Liberty St. Police said it was discovered that she had struck a victim in the face.

Library theft. Warren Police reported that Daniel Labarr, 59, Warren, was charged with library theft on Jan. 14 following an investigation into the theft of DVD’s from the public library.

Harassment. Warren Police reported that Thomas Keeney, 33, Warren, was cited for harassment Jan. 14 after police responded to a domestic dispute where a victim was struck.

Noise disturbance. City of Warren Police reported that Syngyn Swartz, 18, Warren, was cited for a noise disturbance after police were called to his residence regarding a barking dog on Jan. 18.

Conewango Twp.

Retail theft. After an investigation into a retail theft that occurred on Dec. 24 at Walmart, Amber Albaugh, 29, Warren, has been charged with misdemeanor retail theft after failing to pay for $19.88 worth of merchandise. Police said charges have been filed with District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Theft. Conewango Township Police arrested Amber L. Albaugh, 29, of 3480 Hemlock Road, for theft after she allegedly left Walmart having intentionally failed to pay for $78.39 worth of merchandise at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 15.

Pine Grove Twp.

DUI crash. Pennsylvania State Police charged Timothy R. Sherman, 53, of Russell, with three counts of DUI and summary traffic violations after a crash at 8:20 a.m. Christmas Day on Route 957 east of Townline Road. Police said Sherman’s vehicle left the road, entered a ditch, and struck a culvert and an embankment. Police said Sherman was suspected of DUI, arrested, and taken to Warren General Hospital for treatment of his injuries and chemical testing.

Pleasant Twp.

Crash. A passenger in a one-car crash Saturday was injured, but refused treatment. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a west-bound car driven by Marlena Hartman, 23, of Warren, left Chapman Dam Road at about 4 p.m., went about 20 feet down an embankment, and entered a ditch. According to police, passenger Amanda J. Reese, 25, of Warren, reported a minor injury but refused treatment.

Columbus Twp.

Criminal mischief. Corry-based state police reported that on Jan. 9 at 11:49 p.m. someone drove off of Carrier Rd. and ran over a wooden fence post in a yard belonging to Dennis Bogert. Police said the vehicle then went down the victim’s driveway approximately 150 feet to his barn and then turned around and proceeded to travel west on Carrier Rd. The suspected vehicle is a dark pickup truck with large tires and a cap over the bed. Anyone with information is asked to contact Corry-based state police or the Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Sheffield Twp.

Probation violation. On Jan. 13 officers of the Warren County Adult Probation Department arrested Edward ‘Ginkle’ Myer, 28, Sheffield, on charges of violation of probation. During a compliance check at this residence, probation officers found Myer in an intoxicated state. Myer, who was originally placed on probation on the charge of simple assault, was taken into custody by probation on a supervisor’s warrant and committed to the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Erie Co.

Warrant arrest. The Warren County Sheriff’s office arrested Terri Lee Rosequist, 53, Erie, on a bench warrant for failure to appear for summary appeal court. Rosequist will stand committed in the Warren County Jail pending further court action.

Possession of drug paraphernalia. Austin Stuart, 18, Warren, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, public drunkenness and underage drinking on Dec. 31 after city police responded to a report of a male passed out on a sidewalk.

Crash. Nicholas Willetts, 18, Warren, was cited for driving too fast for conditions on Jan. 13 after city police responded to a traffic accident on Hill Street.

Harassment. Scott Holcomb, 48, Warren, was charged with harassment on Jan. 2 after city police received a report that he had sent a text message to the victim after he was told to stop on a previous date.

Conewango Twp.

Theft by deception. Conewango Township police report that on Nov. 18, Virgil Birchard Jr., Warren, passed a check at Advanced Auto Parts in North Warren in the amount of $283.87 knowing that his checking account had been closed since 2004. Police said he was charged with theft by deception, bad checks and receiving stolen property.

Pittsfield Twp.

Accident. Warren-based state police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Route 6, approximately a half mile west of Route 27 at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday. According to police, Laura Hoogstad, 59, Conneaut Lake, lost control of her 2006 Saturn Vue, which left the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned. Route 6 was closed in both directions until a Penelec crew cut power lines that prevented firefighters from accessing the vehicle to free Hoogstad. Police were assisted at the scene by Garland and Youngsville volunteer firefighters, Emergycare, Penelec and PennDOT. Hoogstad was wearing a seat belt and the airbag did not deploy, was transported to Warren General Hospital by Youngsville EMS with a minor injury. Police said she was charged with roadways laned for traffic.

Twp.

Crash. State police report that at 5:47 p.m. on Jan. 11, William L. Black, 74, Youngsville, was traveling south in a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer on Mathews Run Road approximately three quarters of a mile south of Patchen Hollow Road when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck the driver side quarter panel of a 2012 Ford F-150, driven by Vivian A. Sanford, 58, Youngsville. He subsequently side-swiped the entire driver’s side, and both vehicles received disabling damage. Black received minor injuries and was transported to Warren General Hospital by Sugar Grove ambulance. He was cited for failure to drive on the right side of the roadway through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Triumph Twp.

Crash. State police report that at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 12, Christian J. Greer, 24, Titusville, was traveling south on Tidioute Creek Road in a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero when his vehicle dropped off the right edge of the roadway south of Buttermilk Road and slid down the embankment, coming to rest against a pile of debris and brush. He was treated at the scene for a minor injury, then transported to Warren General Hospital by Tidioute ambulance for further evaluation. His car received minor/operable damage, and was towed from the scene. Greer was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed and for traction surfaces through District Justice Todd Woodin’s office.

Bad checks. City of Warren police reported Ruth Anne Beane, 34, Warren, was cited for bad checks on Jan. 5 after a check in the amount of $30 was returned for non-sufficient funds.

Brokenstraw Twp.

Crash. Warren-based state police report that at 8:11 a.m. on Jan.12, an unnamed woman was traveling east on Route 6 in a 2003 Dodge Caravan. According to police, approximately 200 feet west of Route 62, she lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a left-hand curve, traveled across both eastbound lanes and struck the cement barrier in the median, traveled another 50 feet and struck it again. Police said she denied injury and was able to drive her vehicle from the scene. She was cited for traveling too fast for conditions. Police did not release her name.

Retail theft. Conewango Township police report that at 4:30 p.m. on Jan.11, Deanna L. Streit, 25, Warren, was stopped by Loss Prevention personnel at Walmart for failing to pay for $165.24 worth of merchandise. Police charged her with a misdemeanor of the first degree retail theft.

Harassment. Warren-based state police reported that on Jan. 6 at 4:17 p.m. Nebraska Bishop subjected a victim to unwanted physical contact while at Main Drive. Police said Bishop was cited via non-traffic citation for harassment.

Retail theft. On Jan. 6 officers were dispatched to a report of a past tense retail theft at Walmart. After investigation into an incident that occurred on Dec. 19 at 7:20 p.m., Tirell Klancer, 32, Wilcox, Pa., was charged with summary retail theft after leaving the store without paying for $45.96 worth of merchandise. A non-traffic citation has been filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Harassment. City of Warren police reported that Matthew Constable, 40, Warren, was cited for harassment on Jan. 10 after police witnessed a physical altercation between him and the victim during a civil stand by.

Careless driving. City of Warren police reported Jason Turbo, 44, Pleasantville, was cited for careless driving on Jan. 5 after police responded to a traffic accident on Pennsylvania Avenue where a parked vehicle was struck.

Crash. City of Warren police reported Shannon Hannah, 77, Warren, was cited with windshield obstruction and wipers on Dec. 28 following a traffic accident where he struck a parked vehicle because his vision was obstructed.

Liquor law violation. The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement based in Erie reported that a citation was issued on Dec. 30 against Mangione Beverage LLC, 115 Pennsylvania Ave. E., for failure to notify the board within 15 days of a change in manager during the period of Feb. 16 and Nov. 3. The charges will go before an administrative law judge.

Conewango

Twp.

Retail theft. Conewango Township police reported that between Oct. 16 and Nov. 17 Robyn Jayne Means-Smith, Warren, intentionally failed to scan a total of $206.54 worth of merchandise at the self checkout registers at Walmart. Police said the offenses were committed over eight separate days. Police charged Means-Smith with eight felony counts of retail theft.

Youngsville

Liquor law violation. The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement based in Erie reported that a citation was issued on Dec. 30 to the Fairmont Tavern, 118 E. Main St., Youngsville. Police said that the violations were smoking in a public place where smoking is prohibited and failure to post signage as required by the Clean Indoor Air Act. The violations occurred in November. The charges will go before an administrative law judge.

Harassment. City of Warren police reported that a 16-year-old male was cited for harassment on Dec. 20 when officers responded to a report that he was making threats.

Harassment. City of Warren police reported that Jason Seybert, 37, Warren, was cited for harassment on Dec. 20 after officers responded to a report of threats being made.

Dog violation. City of Warren police reported that Jennifer Wortman, 47, Warren, was cited for unlawful to allow dogs to run at large on Dec. 21 after her dog was reported to have bit someone.

Disorderly conduct. City of Warren police reported that Nazareth Aurora, 34, Fairport, N.Y., was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness on Dec. 25 after officers responded to a report of a customer becoming violent. He was placed in the Warren County Jail on an emergency commitment.

Underage drinking. City of Warren police reported that nine juveniles were cited for underage drinking after officers responded to a report of an underage drinking party on Dec. 31.

Criminal trespass. City of Warren police reported that Adam Peterson, 28, Warren, was cited for criminal trespass, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct on Jan. 1 after officers responded to a report of an unknown man sleeping on the couch of a residence.

Bad checks. City of Warren police reported that Anthony Ponick, 29, Warren, was cited for bad checks on Jan. 5 after a check in the amount of $30 was returned for nonsufficient funds.

Columbus Twp.

Firearms act violation. Corry-based state police reported that on Aug. 28 at 3:09 p.m. at C&H Sports a known 44-year-old male, Corry, falsified information when attempting to obtain a firearm. The investigation is ongoing. Police did not release the identity of the accused.

Glade Twp.

Theft. Warren-based state police reported that a known 14-year-old female was allowed to use a phone belonging to her father of Warren. Police said the juvenile failed to return the phone even after repeated attempts. Police said the juvenile was charged with theft via juvenile petition through the Warren County Juvenile Probation Department.

PFA violation. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported that at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 5, Michael P. Himes, 44, Warren, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies for indirect criminal contempt for violating the terms of a Protection From Abuse order. He was incarcerated in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

PFA violation. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported that at approximately 5 p.m. on Jan. 5, Damian T. Horner, 43, Warren, was arrested by sheriff’s deputies for indirect criminal contempt for violating the terms of a Protection From Abuse order in Centre County. Following arraignment, he was released on $25,000 bail while awaiting further court action.

Conewango Twp.

Retail theft. Conewango Township police reported that at 3:10 p.m. on Dec. 29, Jessi L. Coccaro, 34, Sheffield, was stopped by Loss Prevention personnel at WalMart after she had taken $42.34 worth of merchandise without paying for it. She was charged with one count of misdemeanor retail theft.

Pine Grove Twp.

Harassment. State police report that at 7:20 p.m. on Dec. 31, Douglas A. Burge and John H. Matha III were cited by non-traffic citation for harassment after becoming involved in a verbal altercation.

Pleasant Twp.

Theft from a motor vehicle. State police are investigating the theft of a duffel bag and its contents from a vehicle on Murray Drive on Dec. 31 between the hours of 6:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.. Anyone with information is urged to contact state police at 728-3600 or Crimestoppers at 800-832-7463.

Retail theft. State police are investigating a reported retail theft that occurred at 11:21 p.m. on Dec. 27 at Kwik Fill in Sugar Grove Borough.

Cruelty to animals. Paws Along The River Humane Society reported that James M. Groves, Sugar Grove, pleaded guilty on Dec. 10 before District Justice Arthur Zerbe for neglecting and failing to provide daily care, proper shelter, and veterinary care to two dogs he owned. Fines, restitution and prohibition of ownership for 90 days was granted and the dogs were relinquished to the Humane Society.

Cherry Grove Twp.

Search and rescue. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported they assisted Cherry Grove Volunteer Fire Department and the VFD’s K-9 Search and Rescue Team with locating two hikers lost in the heart’s Content area. At approximately 5 p.m., Brent Foster, Pittsfield, and Alicia Boyd, Nampa, Id., were able to make contact with the Warren County 911 Center by cell phone. They reported that they were lost on a hiking trail. At approximately 11:30 p.m. they were found and escorted to safety by a Cherry Grove volunteer search party.

Conewango Twp.

Simple assault. State police report that at 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 13, Nebraska Bishop, 40, Warren, took a medical syringe and barricaded herself in a womens’ restroom at Warren State Hospital. While staff members were trying to safely remove her, she threw the syringe at them. After detaining her in a safe room, she began violent again and the altercation became physical. Charges were filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

DUI. State police report that at 2:03 a.m. on Dec. 17, Cody Allen Gardiner, 22, Conewango Twp., was stopped for a traffic violation and subsequently arrested for DUI and possession of a controlled substance. Charges were filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Deerfield Twp.

Theft. State police report that sometime between Nov. 22 and Dec. 13 someone removed a weather vane from the roof of a dwelling on Davey Hill Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at 814-728-3600 or Crimestoppers at 800-832-7463.

Sheffield Twp.

DUI crash. State police report that at 2:14 a.m. on Dec. 20, Jason M. Brush, 41, Sheffield, was traveling east on Keystone Avenue when the 2011 Honda CRV he was driving left the south edge of the roadway and hit an unoccupied 2013 Chrysler Town and Country. The Honda overturned, hit a utility pole then a guide rail and came to rest on its passenger side. Brush fled the scene on foot, but was found a short time later. He was found to be intoxicated and was later charged with DUI through District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office.

Theft. Conewango Township Police charged Deana K. Miller of Kane for retail theft. According to police, Miller concealed $314.15 worth of items in shopping bags and left Walmart at 4 p.m. Thursday without paying for them.

Sugar Grove Twp.

Assault. Pennsylvania State Police arrested John E. Baran II, 52, of Sugar Grove, and charged him with simple assault, harassment, and resisting arrest at midnight, Friday, Jan. 1. Police responded to a report of a physical altercation at a residence on Fiddler Hill Road. They took Baran, who allegedly struggled with troopers, into custody and placed him in Warren County jail on an emergency commitment.
