Terrorist threats. City of Warren police reported that Dawn Thompson, 56, Warren, was charged with five counts of terrorist threats, five counts of harassment, five counts of disorderly conduct and open lewdness on Sept. 21 following an investigation into an incident that occurred on Aug.26, where she made threats to several people.
Careless driving. City of Warren police reported that Logan Campisano, 19, Warren, was cited for careless driving and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked on Aug. 28 following a single car accident on Market Street and Fifth Avenue.
Theft. City of Warren police reported that Cheryl Leonard, 36, Russell, was charged with theft by unlawful taking and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds following an investigation where she failed to turn over $868 from Girl Scouts cookie sales.
Burglary. City of Warren police reported that Joseph Passerell, 37, Warren, was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, heft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property on Sept. 19 following an investigation into a break in.
False reports. City of Warren police reported that David Cox, 26, Warren, was charged with false reports after he made a report to police alleging he was being harassed by a person known to him, and later admitted to police that he had lied.
Public drunkenness. City of Warren police reported that Dylan Winslow, 24, Warren was cited for public drunkenness after he continued to yell at officers while they were conducting a traffic stop not involving him on Sept. 22.
Curfew ordinance. City of Warren police reported that Jody Thompson, 42, Warren was cited for the curfew ordinance on Sept. 26 after her 15 year old was found out past curfew for the fourth time.
Crash. City of Warren police reported that Ricky Barr, 47, Sheffield was cited for driving while operating privilege is suspended and accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle following a two-vehicle accident on Sept. 26 at the intersection of Market St. and Pennsylvania Ave.

DUI. Pennsylvania State Police charged Karestee Renee Hoak, 26, of Warren, with DUI after a traffic stop at12:42 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Pennsylvania Avenue West and Third Avenue.
Mead Twp.
DUI. Pennsylvania State Police charged Cody Jay Stone Anderson, 24, of Clarendon, with DUI after a traffic stop at 2:36 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Route 6 and Route 59 in Mead Township.
Youngsville
Assault. Youngsville Borough Police charged Samantha Skinner, 33, of Sugar Grove, with felony aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and other charges after an incident that reportedly took place at about 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Down Under. According to police, Skinner was taken into custody for throwing a bottle at and punching a bartender. “During the arrest, Skinner struck officers from the Pennsylvania State Police and Youngsville Police Department,” police wrote.
Theft. Youngsville Borough Police are looking for information about a bicycle reported stolen from a Bates Street residence in the past few days. According to police, the gray Diamond Back bicycle was taken from the resident’s yard. Anyone with information is asked to call 563-7555.

Criminal mischief. Warren-based state police reported that someone knocked over a 40 MPH speed limit sign on Cherry Grove Rd. belonging to PennDOT. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police or the Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Theft. Warren-based state police said that William Frederoski, Tiona, reported to them that cash was stolen out of his truck on Sept. 15 between 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police or the Warren County Crime Stoppers.

Pittsfield Twp.
Theft. According to Pennsylvania State Police, on Sept. 15, at around 8:30 p.m. in the Double D’s parking lot, someone entered two unlocked vehicles belonging to Christal A. Wolcott, 42, Pittsfield, and Jeff Keefer, unreported, while they were inside the establishment. Police said the suspect then took various items from the vehicles. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police.
Youngsville
Weapon. Youngsville Borough Police reported that on Sept. 23, at about 2 p.m., they were called to Youngsville High School for a student with a knife. The male subject, police said, did possess a knife on school property. He did not threaten anyone with the knife and police said he was removed from school grounds by his guardians. Charges will be filed with juvenile probation.
Identity theft. Rena Ciukaj, Youngsville, reported to police that she noticed on Sept. 18 that someone transferred $4,900 from a bank account belonging to her and her son to their account. Police are investigating the alleged incident.

Identity theft. Warren-based state police are investigating an identity theft that occurred on Sept. 19. According to police, someone used a debit card belonging to Kimberly S. Retterer, 47, and purchased over $100 worth of merchandise at various locations.
Columbus Twp.
Disorderly conduct. Corry-based state police reported that on Sept. 21 at 3:40 p.m. William Charles Barr, 62, Corry, was intoxicated and arrived at Allegheny Power Equipment to have chainsaw blades sharpened. Police said Barr became irate with employees and threatened one employee after he attempted to escort Barr from the business. Police said charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness were filed with District Justice Arthur Zerbe.
Mead Twp.
Crash. Warren-based state police responded to a crash on Woodcrest Drive on Sept. 22 at 2:20 p.m. According to police, an unknown vehicle was backing out of a driveway and struck a 2011 Dodge Dakota belonging to Scott D. Barber, 64, Youngsville, that was legally parked facing east in front of 13 Woodcrest Dr. The unknown vehicle fled the scene. Barber’s vehicle sustained moderate damage to the driver side rear and was able to be driven from the scene. No injuries were reported. Crawford County
Homicide investigation. Corry-based state police are investigating the death of Kenneth Halsaver, 74, Mercer Road, Townville. Police said that Halsaver did not report for work Tuesday morning and fellow employees became concerned for his safety. A family member was then contacted regarding this concern and went to Halsaver’s residence to check on his welfare. Family found Halsaver deceased at about 12:25 p.m. The Meadville Tribune reported that police would not disclose cause of death. A search for Halsaver’s vehicle and phone resulted in locating both on Interstate 80 in Centre County. According to police, troopers patrolled the area, looking for the subject vehicle. When troopers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver led them on a high-speed chase for about 40 miles before the vehicle was disabled and the driver arrested, police said. Dustin Halsaver, 33, son of Kenneth Halsaver, was taken into custody on charges of fleeing and eluding, receiving stolen property, and traffic violations. Police said he is a parole absconder. Dustin Halsaver has not been charged with homicide as of Wednesday morning, police said. During a preliminary arraignment Wednesday in Centre County, bail was set at $1 million.

Criminal mischief. Warren-based state police reported that sometime between 7:50 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 18 someone “keyed” the driver’s side door of a white Ford Fusion belonging to Kimberly Hunter, Warren, causing damage. Theft. According to Warren-based state police, sometime between Sept. 2 and Sept. 17, someone stole a 2013-2014 orange Old Town kayak, serial number XTC00351A313 with the word “Willow” written in black marker on top from Chapman State Park. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or PA Crime Stoppers.
Crash. Warren-based state police reported that on Sept. 19 at 3:20 p.m., Devin C. Sharp, 19, Russell, was driving her 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback west on Route 59 and, while distracted, traveled into the westbound berm. Police said Sharp’s vehicle hit the end of the guardrail and, after impact, spun clockwise back into the westbound lane before coming to a stop facing south. Sharp and her unidentified passenger were uninjured. Police said Sharp was cited with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Sugar Grove
Twp.
Theft. Susan Johnson, 61, 6584 Matthew’s Run Rd., reported to state police that on Sept. 20 between 5 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., someone entered her property and removed the Pennsylvania registration plate from her vehicle. The suspect, police said, then fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police or Warren County Crime Stoppers.
McKean County
DUI. Kane-based state police reported that on Sept. 21 at 8:50 p.m., police stopped at the intersection of Route 59 and Magnetic Avenue in Keating Township to check on the welfare of Justin Edward Mueller, 30, Clarendon, who was stopped alongside the road. Upon further investigation, police said, Mueller was found to be driving under the influence. Police said Mueller will be charged via criminal complaint with DUI and related summary violations through district court 48-3-02 in Smethport.

Liquor law violation. The Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement reported that an adjudication against the Holiday Inn of Warren was issued on Aug. 13 for a violation to notify the Liquor Control Board with 15 days of a change of manager, during the period of Aug. 15, 2013 through Aug. 15, 2014; and that it sold alcoholic beverages on Aug. 1, 2 and 3, 2014 after its hotel liquor license expired on July 31, 2014. An administrative law judge imposed a fine of $1,400.

Twp.
PFA violation. Warren-based state police reprted that at approximately 9:42 a.m. on Sept. 18, Damien Horner, 43, Warren, showed up at the victim’s residence and attempted to initiate a conversation in violation of a protection from abuse order. Horner was apprehended a short time later and released into the custody of the Warren County Jail. He was arraigned through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office and bail was set at $25,000 secured.
Erie County
Crash. Corry-based state police reported that at 11:40 p.m. on Sept. 19, Justin M. Messenger, Columbus, was driving north on Route 426 in a 2006 Ford Escape when he fell asleep. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment, going airborne. When the vehicle landed, it struck another embankment and rolled two complete revolutions, landing on its wheels. Police said Messenger was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic. Both Messenger and his passenger, Kyle Messenger, 23, Columbus, were wearing lap and shoulder belts.

Possession. Conewango Township police reported that at approximately 12:17 p.m. on June 17, Edward Charles Thornton, Warren, was arrested on a warrant while he was on the North Warren Bike/Hike Trail. During the arrest, police said they found a small amount of bath salts and three pieces of drug paraphernalia in his possession. Police charged him with one count of possession of a small amount of bath salts, and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Theft. Conewango Township police reported that sometime between Sept. 11 and Sept. 18 someone stole the tailgate off of a black 2004 Ford F-150 owned by Merritt Motor Car in North Warren, while the vehicle was parked in the dealership’s parking lot. Crash. Warren-based state police reported that on Sept. 15 at 11:30 a.m. a 2002 Toyota 4Runner, driven by Loreana M. Greer, 44, Sheffield, was traveling east on Route 6, west of School Street. According to police, a deer ran from the south side of the roadway directly into the path of Greer’s vehicle, was struck by the front of the vehicle and propelled directly into the path of a 2010 Subaru Forrester, driven by John E. Borger, 63, Clarendon, which then hit the deer. Both units suffered disabling damage and Borger sustained what police described as minor injuries.

Charged. Warren City Police said Brennen Smith, 18, Warren, was charged with theft by unlawful taking on Sept. 5 following an investigation into a stolen cell phone. On Sept. 8 he was charged with terrorist threats after he made threats towards the victims in the previous incident. Police said he was arraigned and placed in the Warren County Jail on $15,000 bail.
Charged. Warren City Police said Joseph Campman, 29, Warren, was charged with recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and reckless driving after officers responded to a report that he had aggressively driven through the parking lot of his former employer. He was arraigned and placed in the Warren County Jail on $10,000 bail.
Cited. Warren City Police said Amelia Perry, 26, Warren, was cited for traffic control signals following a two-car accident on Sept. 9 at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Liberty Street.
Cited. Warren City Police said Daniel Lane, 24, Russell, was cited for public drunkenness on Sept. 12 after police discovered him passed out in his vehicle at 3:22 a.m.
Charged. Warren City Police said Adam Confer, 18, Warren, was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property on Sept. 9 following an investigation into a stolen bicycle. Police said he was placed in the Warren County Jail on an emergency commitment.
Charged. Warren City Police said Brenda Knisley, 38, Warren, was charged with disorderly conduct, defiant trespass and harassment following an assault that occurred on Sept. 13. She was arraigned and put in the Warren County Jail on $2,500 bail.
Cited. Warren City Police said Donald Reed, 27, Warren, was cited for retail theft on Sept. 15 after he attempted to leave Thorne’s BiLo with $8.90 worth of merchandise without paying for it.
Cited. Warren City Police said a 17-year-old male was cited for driving vehicle at safe speed following a three-vehicle accident on Sept. 14 on Madison Avenue, where he struck parked unoccupied vehicles.

Mead Twp.
DUI. Warren-based state police reported that at 8:32 p.m. on August 13, John Bernard Cawthon III, 37, Warren, was involved in what police described as a “rolling domestic dispute” with a known juvenile male and a known juvenile female on Brown Run Rd. at the intersection with Sr. 59. Upon police arrival, it was suspected that Cawthon was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the stop. The accused was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and transported to Warren General Hospital for chemical testing. Charges were filed against Cawthon at District Justice Laura Bauer’s office and include DUI, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, careless driving and two other summary violations.
DUI. Warren-based state police reported that at 3:18 p.m. on Sept. 1, on Sr. 59 just west of the intersection with Brown Run Rd., Timothy Allen Martin, 47, Kennedy, N.Y., was involved in a motorcycle crash. While traveling east on Sr. 59, police said Martin failed to negotiate a sharp curve in the roadway, struck a cement barrier and causing Martin and a female passenger to be thrown from the motorcycle onto the roadway. Police said both Martin and his passenger sustained moderate injuries and were flown from the scene to UPMC Hamot. Upon further investigation, police said it was suspected that Martin was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was interviewed at UPMC Hamot by PSP Erie members and submitted to chemical testing. Blood results determined his BAC to be above the legal limit. Charges were filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office in North Warren against Martin and include three counts of DUI, careless driving and other summary violations.
DUI. Warren-based state police reported that at 6:40 p.m. on August 3 police observed Lorn Ray Champlin, Jr., 29, Sheffield, traveling east on US 6, near the intersection of School St. and US 6. Champlin’s vehicle was observed crossing the center dividing lines of the roadway before leaving the eastern berm of the roadway and hitting a stop sign on School Street. A traffic stop was initiated and upon further investigation it was determined that the accused was operating his vehicle under the influence of prescription drugs. A criminal complaint has been filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office with DUI and various traffic offenses.

Criminal mischief. Warren-based state police reported that sometime between 9 p.m. on Sept. 13 and 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 someone damaged a mailbox on S. Main Street, Sheffield. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police, 728-3600, or Crimestoppers at 814-832-7463.

Warrant arrest. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported that at 3 p.m. on Sept. 12, Warren County Sherriff’s deputies, with the assistance of Warren City Police, arrested Justin D. Wilcox, 32, Warren, on a bench warrant for failure to appear for Fines and Costs Court. Wilcox was incarcerated in the Warren County Jail awaiting further court action.

DUI. According to state police, at 2:36 a.m. Saturday, police stopped a suspect for a traffic violation at the intersection of Route 6 and Route 59 and believed the suspect to be under the influence of alcohol. Police say charges are pending lab results. Police did not release the name of the accused.
Crash. State police said at 4:42 p.m. on Sept. 9, Jenah Clopp, 30, Warren, lost control of her 2009 Audi A4 on the wet roadway while traveling west on Route 59. The vehicle crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, police said, and hit an embankment on the eastbound shoulder with the front end. The car continued to travel along the embankment before partially rolling over, police said. The vehicle came to a final rest on its roof facing north. Clopp was uninjured in the crash, police reported, but her passenger, Brittany Parrett, 29, Warren, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Warren General Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The vehicle was towed from the scene with disabling damage and Clarendon VFD assisted with traffic control. Clopp was charged with driving vehicle at safe speed.
Pine Grove Twp.
Domestic violence. Pennsylvania State Police reported that on Sept. 10 between 4:15 and 4:30 p.m., Joseph Laine Blauser Jr. 33, Russell, became involved in a verbal disagreement with a known female that resulted in physical contact. The victim, police reported, sustained injuries as a result. Blauser was taken into custody and placed in Warren County jail on an emergency commitment. Blauser was charged with simple assault and harassment through District Judge Laura Bauer’s office. Blauser was arraigned on Sept. 11 at 8:30 a.m. before District Judge Glenn Carlson with bail set at $3,000. Police said Blauser was unable to post bail and was returned to jail.

Youngsville
Theft. Youngsville police charged Lugene Sturdevant, Youngsville, on Sept. 9 for stealing morphine tablets from a victim on College St. while she was asleep in her home. Sturdevant was placed in the Warren County Jail awaiting further hearings. He was also charged by police with several counts of drug paraphernalia and drug possession after probation officers were at his residence to do a check on him and recovered a small wooden box with needles, syringes, grinders and pipes for inhaling. Charges were filed through District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office.

DUI. Warren City police said Shawn Dubiel, 43, Warren, was charged with DUI, DUI (BAC.16 or higher), accidents involving unattended vehicles and limitations on backing following an accident on Aug. 24 when he stuck a vehicle while backing out of a parking space.
False reports. Warren City police said Charolett Smith, 55, Warren, was charged with unsworn falsification to authorities, false reports – falsely incriminating another and false reports-reported offense that didn’t occur. Police said Smith reported reporting that someone had used her vehicle without her permission following the traffic accident.
False identification. Warren City police said Virgil Birchard, 32, Pleasantville, was charged with false identification after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Aug. 27, and he provided identification that was not his.
Careless driving. Warren City police said Logan Campisano, 19, Warren, was cited for careless driving following a one-car accident at Market Street and Seventh Avenue on Aug. 28.
Disorderly conduct. Warren City police said Jessica Steuart, 24, Youngsville, was cited for disorderly conduct, harassment and two charges of leaving an unattended child in a motor vehicle after police responded to a report of a fight in a parking lot.
False report. Warren City police said a 13-year-old juvenile was charged with false report-falsely incriminating another following an investigation into threats he said were made against him.
Dog license offenses. Warren City police said Robert Emery, 52, Warren, was cited for applications for dog license and vaccination required after police received a report of a dog bite.
Public drunkenness. Warren City police said Brian Ecklund, 38, Warren, was cited for public drunkenness after police responded to a report of a man threatening to push his girlfriend off a bridge.
Harassment. Warren City police said Alexandra Borton, 22, Warren, was cited for harassment on Sept. 7 after police responded to an altercation.
Disorderly conduct. Warren City police said Brenda Knisley, 38,Warren, was cited for disorderly conduct and defiant trespass and Alexandra Borton, 22, Warren, was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct on Sept. 7 after police responded to a report of an assault.
Hit and run. Warren City police said they are looking for information regarding a hit and run that occurred on Sept. 4 at approximately 6:55 p.m. This accident involved an unknown blue sedan that was traveling east at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Eddy Street that struck an adult riding a bicycle causing injury and fled the scene. Columbus Twp.
Theft. Corry-based state police report that sometime between 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 8, someone stole copper wire from a private residence on Green Hill Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Corry at 663-2043.
Criminal mischief. Corry-based state police report that sometime between 11 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 8 a.m. on Sept. 8, someone punched out the locking mechanism on a vehicle at 124 Timber Lane, causing major damage to the door. Police said latent finger and palm prints were lifted from the door for identification. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Corry at 663-2043.
Conewango Twp.
Retail theft. Conewango Township Police report that at 9:32 p.m. on Sept. 8, officers were dispatched to WalMart for a retail theft. Loss prevention personnel had reported observing David Jeremy Cox, Warren, concealing $314.25 worth of merchandise without paying for it. Cox is being charged with one count misdemeanor retail theft. Charges have been filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office, pending further court action.
Freehold Twp.
Crash. Corry-based state police report that at 2:05 p.m. on Sept. 10, Shona L. Johnson, 37, Bear Lake, was traveling north on Route 958, north of Kidder Road, in a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer when she swerved to miss a deer, and traveled into a ditch on the east side of the roadway. She sustained moderate injuries to her neck, back and shoulders. Police said she was wearing a seatbelt, and side airbags deployed in the vehicle. Johnson was transported to Corry Memorial Hospital by Corry ambulance, and her vehicle was towed from the scene. She was given a warning for failure to drive at a safe speed.
Pleasant Twp.
Theft. Warren-based state police report that sometime between 10 p.m. on Sept. 5 and 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 someone took a small amount of cash from a 79-year-old male victim’s room at 682 Pleasant Drive. DUI. Warren-based state police reported that on Sept. 7 at 3 a.m. a known 36-year-old male from Erie made minor traffic violations. Police said the individual, whose name was not released, was arrested for DUI and that charges will be filed with District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.
Pine Grove Twp.
DUI/drugs. On Friday Aug. 28 at approximately 11:45 p.m. Warren County DUI Task Force officers arrested Tristin Pearson, 18, Jamestown, N.Y., for DUI and possession of marijuana on Route 62 when they observed Pearson changing a tire on his vehicle alongside the road. Pearson, admitted to have been driving, was found to be intoxicated by marijuana. Marijuana was also seized from inside the vehicle. Charges are being filed, police said, through District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office.

DUI. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported that at about 12:45 a.m. on Sept. 8, deputies observed a vehicle operated by Zachery McLaughlin, 24, Youngsville, commit several traffic violations on Pennsylvania Avenue East. He was found to be driving under the influence of marijuana and alcohol, and to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Conewango Township Police, K-9 Choper, Warren City Police and Warren-based state police assisted at the scene. A criminal complaint was filed at District Justice Glenn Carlson’s office charging McLaughlin with four counts of DUI, four counts of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic violations.

Theft. Warren-based state police report that between 8 p.m. on Sept. 1 and 6 a.m. on Sept.2, someone broke the back window of a vehicle located at a residence on Mathews Run Road and took a purse, which was recovered a short time later with nothing missing.
Glade Twp.
PFA violation. Warren-based state police report that at 6:56 p.m. on Sept. 2, Glenn Andrew Slocum, 28, Warren, was yelling obscenities at a known 21-year-old female at the tailwaters of Kinzua Dam, while there was an active protection from abuse order between them. Police said Slocum was located at his residence and taken into custody. He was transported to the state police’s station, fingerprinted and photographed, then incarcerated in the Warren County Jail.
Pine Grove Twp.
Crash. Warren-based state police report that at 5:35 p.m. on Sept. 4, a known 17-year-old male juvenile from Warren lost control of a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban on S. Main Street north of Woodland Drive. The vehicle crossed the northbound lane and struck a tree. Police said the driver was cited with failure to drive a vehicle at a safe speed.
Underage possession of alcohol. Warren-based state police report that at 6:01 p.m. on Sept. 4, while investigating a traffic accident, a known 17-year-old male juvenile was found to be possessing alcohol. A non-traffic citation was filed through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Crash. Warren-based state police report that at 2:35 p.m. on Aug. 29, Patricia A. Imhoff, 66, Corry, was travelling east on Route 27 in Garland in a 2007 Subaru Forester. For an unknown reason, she traveled 195 feet off the south berm and struck a utility pole. After impact, the vehicle traveled down an embankment and rolled onto its roof. Imhoff was extricated and transported to Corry Memorial Hospital by Youngsville Volunteer Fire Department ambulance. Police said she was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Clarendon
DUI. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office report that at approximately 7:40 a.m. on Aug. 8, sheriff’s deputies observed a vehicle operated by Robert Nearing, 22, Sheffield, commit several traffic violations on Route 6. Police said Nearing was found to be driving under the influence of marijuana and was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Conewango Township Police and K-9 Choper assisted at the scene. A criminal complaint was filed at District Justice Laura Bauer’s office charging Nearing with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana and traffic violations.

Disorderly conduct. Corry-based state police investigated an incident on Sept. 6 at 1:30 a.m. where two defendants, Douglas L. Woodward, 23, and Blaydon Foster Niles, 23, both of Chautauqua, N.Y., were intoxicated in the public causing a disturbance by fighting. Both were charged through District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office.

Cruelty to animals. On Sept. 4 at 1:33 p.m. Robert Funk, West Hickory, left his German shepherd dog unattended in his pick-up truck in the Lowe’s parking lot for more then an hour when temperatures outside were near 90 degrees. Police subsequently charged Funk with a summary violation of cruelty to animals.
Theft. Sometime between Sept. 2 and Sept. 4 someone entered a 2010 Dodge Ram pick-up truck that was parked in the used car lot of Ed Shults and stole the instrument cluster valued at $1,200 from the dash of the vehicle.
Assault. Conewango Township Police charged Riley N. Brown, 20, Warren, with assault, harassment, and criminal mischief after responding to a domestic dispute call at 8:33 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 4390 Jackson Run Rd. According to police, Brown was taken to Warren County Jail.
Found. A set of vehicle keys were found Sunday, Sept. 6, on the bike/hike trail between the City of Warren and North Warren. The keys were turned in to Conewango Township Police. Anyone wishing to claim the keys may contact police at 726-0725.

Bench warrant. The Warren County Sheriff’s office arrested Raymond Elwood Blair III, 35, Mayville, N.Y., on two bench warrants for failure to appear for fines and costs court and one supervisor’s warrant for probation and parole violations. Blair has been remanded to the Warren County Jail.

Harassment. Corry-based state police reported that at 5 p.m. August 30 a known 41-year-old male, Corry, and a known 26-year-old female, also of Corry, subjected each other to physical contact by striking each other in the face. Police said both suffered minor abrasions as a result of the altercation and were cited for harassment through District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office.

DUI. Warren-based state police reported that, at 11:08 p.m. July 31, Darrell Lee Robinault, 35, Sugar Grove, was found to be in control of an ATV on Sr. 69 east of Rt. 27. During interaction with Robinault, it was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. Charges of DUI as well as multiple traffic violations were filed against Robinault through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Identity theft. Warren-based state police reported that on August 21 someone opened an AT&T account in the name of Daniel Joseph Zdarko, 61, Pleasant Township.
Sheffield Twp.
Cruelty to animals. Warren-based state police reported that on August 31 at 8:40 p.m. at 33 1st Mill St., Joseph Austin Thomas, 52, Sheffield, failed to provide necessary basic care for a small mix-breed dog, to which he claimed ownership. When police arrived for an un-related incident, the dog was observed in need of emergency veterinary care, and was seized from the accused and turned over to the care of the Humane Society. Police said Thomas was charged with cruelty for animals via non-traffic citation through District Justice Glenn Carlson’s office.
Sugar Grove Twp.
Simple assault. Warren-based state police reported that on August 23 at 1:52 a.m. James Wightman, Erie, and a known female victim, Sugar Grove, became involved in a domestic dispute on Matthews Run Rd. Wightman threw the victim against a parked vehicle and subsequently choked and headbutted her causing a large bump to the victim’ forehead and some bruising around both sides of the neck. Police arrested Wightman and charged him with simple assault and harassment through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.
Tidioute
Theft. Warren-based state police reported that between 3 p.m. on August 10 and 11 p.m. on August 20 Michelle Stephen Klos, 46, Tidioute, left town on vacation and upon return found items missing. Klos had a house-sitter who invited a known 19-year-old male, Corry, over to stay with her. Police said charges are pending further investigation.

Criminal mischief. State police reported that sometime between 5 p.m. on Aug. 28 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 29 someone released the contents of a fire extinguisher inside the cab of a truck tractor in the parking lot at 31 Railroad St. in Clarendon Borough. DUI. State police reported that upon coming into contact with Michael Taubert, 41, Corry, in the area of Scrambling Road, regarding an unrelated incident, it was determined that he was under the influence of alcohol, and had been observed operating his vehicle at that location. He was taken into custody and charged through District Justice Arthur Zerbe’s office.

Theft. State police reported that sometime between 10 p.m. on Aug. 29 and 3:45 p.m. on Aug. 30, someone stole a concrete block, approximately 12 inches by 18 inches by 5 inches from a retaining wall on Route 62 near the Pa. and the N.Y. border. Bad checks. State police reported that on July 25, Brenda K Knisley, 38, wrote a bad check to a victim on Route 957. A citation was issued through District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.

Criminal mischief. State police reported that sometime between Aug. 21 and Aug. 24, someone punctured the tire on a log skidder on Brooks Road near Miles Road.
Sugar Grove Borough
DUI. State police reported that at 12:35 a.m. on Aug. 29, Jonathan Lerory Porter, 47, Russell, was stopped for a traffic violation on Harmon Street, just north of Abbot Street in Sugar Grove. He was suspected to be under the influence, placed under arrest and transported to PSP Warren for processing. Charges, including two counts of DUI, careless driving and other summary traffic violations were filed at District Justice Laura Bauer’s office.
