Clothing giveaway The Akeley Christian Fellowship Church, 541 Akeley Road, Russell, will host their Annual Clothing Giveaway Thursday, Aug. 21 from 2 to 6 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free clothing, shoes, boots, coats, etc will be available in sizes kids through adult. Woodlands Association to host program Aug. 23

EDINBORO - The Northwest Pennsylvania Woodland Association will be hosting an educational program on non-native insects and plants that threaten the health of northwestern Pennsylvania forests. The program will be held at Cornplanter Forest – Strawbridge Tract near Townville, Pa., on Aug. 23. DCNR Service Foresters will lead a walk through some of the State Forest to review treatments that have been applied to Hemlock trees to stem the spread of the woolly adelgid. Paving project to start soon on Route 6 in Freehold, Pittsfield Townships

A $1.8 million resurfacing project that will give motorists a smoother ride on nearly 5 miles of Route 6 in Freehold and Pittsfield Township, Warren County is scheduled to start next week. The project will include milling and paving of 4.74 miles of roadway from the intersection of Route 6 and Sears Hill Road in Freehold Township to the intersection of Route 6 and Nelson Hills Road in Pittsfield Township.
