COMMUNITY NEWS

– The Community Bell Choir will begin practice Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the Education Wing of the Youngsville First United Methodist Church, 225 E. Main St., Youngsville. Beginners through advanced ringers are welcome.

– The New Life Church, 18 Second St., Youngsville, is having another concert in November featuring The Brothers McClurg. The Brothers McClurg will be bringing their bluegrass/folk/Appalachian style concert on Saturday, Nov. 15, and will also have special music for the Sunday morning worship service Nov. 16.

– Every Thursday, is “Bar-Bingo” at the Youngsville American Legion (10 North Main St.). Bingo starts at 6pm, and the kitchen opens at 5 p.m.. Bar-Bingo is a formal term for this weekly fundraising event and is not intended to imply that bingo participants are required to sit at or near the bar area.

LIBRARY NEWS

Don’t forget to stop by and check out the new solar bench out front with phone charging! Instructions on how to access the wifi are visibly displayed.

As a reminder of the library services: Public wifi access 24/7; high speed internet; power library reference and computer applications; computer printing, copier, scanner and faxing available with a fee; Book Club meets the second Tuesday of the month from 3 to 4 p.m.; Preschool story time is the second Tuesday of the month from 10:30 to 11 a.m.; WIFI Wednesday is the third Wednesday of the month from 4 to 5 p.m. Stop by for free help with electronic devices including iPhone, Androids and tablets. No appointment is needed.

– On Saturday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m., the library will be hosting a presentation by author Dennis Viglo of “Strange Kinzua”, where he will be sharing photos and stories of the strange happenings in the Kinzua area. Viglo’s focus is forest anomalies, particularly in the hauntingly beautiful Kinzua area of the Allegheny National Forest.
