James J. Leofsky
James J. Leofsky, 84, of Mickle Hill Road, (Garland) Springcreek, PA, passed away at Hillcrest Farm doing what he loved on Wednesday morning, Oct. 29, 2025. Born Aug. 15, 1941, in Warren, PA, he was the son of the late Roman and Mary Karkoski Leofsky. He was passionate about farming and proud to be a Third Generation Farmer at Hillcrest Farm on Mickle Hill which his family had operated since 1912 after they migrated to this country. Jim had also worked for 42 years as a Tool and Die Maker at Sylvania. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and also the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He felt that his greatest accomplishments in life were the farm, driving nice tractors (John Deere) and his children.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leslie (Nugent) Leofsky whom he married Oct. 26, 1963 in Youngsville and who died in Nov. 1999. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Marion Cmiel, Betty Leofsky and Sally McClure; and 1 brother, Raymond Leofsky.
Surviving are 7 beloved children; 4 sons, John J. (Colette) Leofsky of Radcliff, KY, Steve M. (Melanie) Leofsky of Corry, PA, Gary A. (Misty-Mimi) Leofsky of Belton,TX, and Mark A. (Brittini Greer) Leofsky of Corry; 3 daughters, Julie Lynn Leofsky Saltsman (Chad) of Mickle Hill, Jennifer Lynn (D.J. Sererak) Leofsky of Mickle Hill, and Kristy Lynn (Greg) Armstead of Melbourne, FL; 1 sister, Judith Brooks of Delray Beach, FL; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and Jim’s long-time devoted companion, Monica Smith (and is also fondly remembered by her daughter, Monique and her grandson, Spencer King Oaks).
Visitation will be on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025 from 5 – 8 pm at McKinney Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 54 West Main St., Youngsville, PA. A Blessing Service will be held at Hillcrest Farm (1188 Mickle Hill Road) on Tuesday, Nov.4, 2025 at 11 am with Pastor Rick Hamrick, Youngsville Free Methodist Church officiating and all are welcome to attend. Graveside services will follow and will be public at the St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Corry, PA. The family suggests that those wishing to make a memorial should do so to the Warren Conservation Office in memory of James Leofsky, 4000 Conewango Ave., Warren, PA 16365.
