Bank employees to meet

Employees of Warren National Bank will meet on Oct. 23 at the Eagles Club at 11:30 a.m. Those attending should let Bob Merenick know they will attend.

Warren Class of 1957 to meet

The Warren High School Class of 1957 will meet on Saturday, Oct. 19, at noon at the Eagles Club in Warren.

A pumpkin carving contest, Halloween crafts, trick-or-treating and a costume contest will be held on Market Street near Dairy Queen on Saturday. Pumpkins will be available for purchase or contestants can bring their own. Pumpkin carving tools will be available. Judging and prizes will be given out after 2 p.m. All pumpkins can be taken home after judging. Costume contest judging will also take place at 2 p.m. Trick-or-treating is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event takes place at 1751 Market, North Warren.

Busti Mill to host

Halloween event Oct. 26

BUSTI – The Halloween Haunt at the Mill will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Costumed guides and actors will lead guests through the 1839 Busti Mill and the 1849 miller’s house to hear spooky stories from the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Refreshments and a Halloween craft will follow in the meeting room. This is a non-scary family friendly Halloween event. Tours start on the half hour. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Christian Women’s Group

to gather Oct. 14

The Jamestown-Warren Christian Women Village Missions Country Partners will hold its autumn harvest luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at noon at Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. The spiritual speaker is Pastor Tori Jordan, and violin music will be by Pastor Todd Wentworth. Bring a $1 brown bag item for exchange. Lunch is $7. The group is also collecting synthetic socks for military personnel Christmas packages to be sent overseas by Blue Star Mothers of Jamestown. Call Nancy Schuyler for a reservation at 716-294-3071. Historical Society Wreath-Making Workshop

BUSTI – The Busti Historical Society will host a fall wreath making workshop on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the society grounds, 3443 Lawson Road, Busti. The cost is $25 per person, supplies are included. Register by Thursday, Oct. 9, by emailing bustihistorical@gmail.com or by calling 716-483-3670. Space is limited.

Outdoor club to

kayak Sunday

On Sunday, Oct. 12, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will kayak the Allegheny River from Kinzua Dam to the Eagles Club in Warren. The group will meet at the Eagles Club at 1:30 p.m. Those attending need to bring a life jacket and water. Mark Simpson will be leading the float.

Pine Grove Township to

hold clean-up day Saturday

PINE GROVE – A fall clean up day for Pine Grove Township residents will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to noon at the township garage. No oil, paint or liquid hazardous waste, propane tanks, yard waste, household garbage, tires, batteries or recyclable items will be accepted. Driver’s licenses will be checked to verify township residency. The cost will be $10 for cars and vans and $20 for pick-up trucks and trailers.

PINE GROVE – Trick-or-treating in Pine Grove Township will be held on Friday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. Trick-or-treaters are asked to visit only those houses with porch lights on.

Friday at the Conewango Club: first place, Laurie Curren; second place, Cindy Schumann.
