PennDOT road maintenance
The following maintenance work is scheduled for the week of July 22 on roads maintained by PennDOT in Warren County: Pipe repairs on Jackson Run Rd. in Farmington Twp.; Spray patching on Route 426 in Pittsfield and Spring Creek townships, Rt. 127 in Triumph Twp., US 6 in Mead Twp., Valentine Run Rd. in Pine Grove Twp. and Brown Hill Rd. in Sugar Grove Twp.; Ditch cleaning on Follett Run Rd. in Conewango Twp. and Miller Hill Rd. in Farmington Twp. and crack sealing on US 6 in Pittsfield and Freehold townships as well as Rt. 958 in Freehold Twp.
HEROES events
HEROES, a support group for parents with children with disabilities, will meet on Sept. 26 at the Jefferson DeFrees Family Center at 6 p.m.Speaker will be Tammy Hawk, community advocate, FWHS, who will be talking about the components of an IEP. They are also holding an all inclusive sensory-friendly fun day on Aug. 25 from 2 p.m. to 5 pm at Beaty Park to include a slip n slide with bowling, cornhole, sidewalk chalk, light meal and waterplay. Donations appreciated but not required.
Bridge results
Lana Creal and Chick Bello came in first Monday evening at the YMCA with Pat Fincher and Kim Barber in second. At the Allegheny Community Center on Tuesday, Alice Kellogg and Donna Hickey were first and second. Linda Jensen placed first on Thursday at the Woman’s Club with Donna Holding in second.
Bocce league
picnic is Sunday
The Warren Bocce League will hold its members’ picnic Sunday. Court maintenance begins at 2 p.m. with play starting at 3 p.m. and dinner at 5 p.m. Those attending should bring a dish to pass and their own drinks.
