Gas price down one cent in Warren this week

Gas prices fell one cent — both in the region and in Warren — this week.

The average price according to the AAA East Central Gas Price Report for the region is $3.851 and Warren is four cents higher at $3.897.

Locally, that’s down nearly a cent from last week’s $3.889.

Mercer is the highest in the region at $3.889, followed closely by Warren and Latrobe, which was also reported at $3.897.

According to AAA, the national average fell three cents to $3.47.

“Last week’s decision by OPEC+ to maintain current production levels and not make any cuts led to lower oil prices,” the report concluded. “Oil prices account for as much as 60% of the cost of a gallon of gas.”

The national average is 18 cents more than a month ago and four cents more than the same week in 2022.

Energy Information Administration data shows that demand for gas rose but “total supply growth has helped limit pump price increases,” AAA concluded.

Starting at $3.50/week.
