FALLS PREVENTION

Each year, one out of every four seniors fall and injure themselves in their home. The ACC’s annual falls prevention class will be offered on June 14 and 15 at 1 p.m. The two day event will help seniors learn how to stay safe in their home while also providing specific balance exercises.

PARTNERSHIP WITH THE YMCA

Running through the summer, offerings for kids include an art experience on Wednesdays starting June 14th, culinary programs at the ACC as well as a series of “Make and Take” projects. All kids classes are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Allegheny Community Center. On the adult side, an acrylic painting class will be offered via a five-week session and a stained class session over two weeks as well as a two-week class for grandparents and their grandchildren. Call the ACC or YMCA for more information or to sign up for these various programs.
