Guided morning nature walk set
Taking a walk with an Audubon Community Nature Center educator is an opportunity to discover some of the seasonal changes that are taking place in the plants, animals and landscape.
This past year more and more people flocked to both new and familiar outdoor environments, as they safely enjoyed the natural world.
The Audubon Community Nature Center’s next monthly guided nature walk will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 15. Be sure to dress for the weather and have a face covering available. The walk will be canceled in the case of severe weather. The event is free, but donations are appreciated.
Because of limited space, reservations are requested by Thursday. To reserve a space, call the Nature Center during open hours at 569-2345 or go to AudubonCNC.org and click through “Upcoming Programs.” Walk-ins will be accepted if there is room.
Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. While practicing safe social distancing measures, visit six miles of trails on the 600-acre nature preserve from dawn to dusk daily.
The Nature Center building includes the Blue Heron Gift Shop, live animals, and the winning photographs from the 2020 Nature Photography Contest.
Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is by donation only.
