Brokenstraw bridge reopens

A bridge in Brokenstraw Township that has been closed for much of September has reopened.

PennDOT closed the bridge near the intersection of Route 27 and Murray Hill Road back on Sept. 8.

The new bridge carries Route 27 over Browns Run in Brokenstraw Twp.

“Work continues in the area near the bridge,” according to a statement from PennDOT. “Drivers should be alert for possible traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.”

Documentation on the project indicates that the preliminary estimated cost of the project was $800,000 and indicates that minimal road work, utility pole location and right of way acquisition was anticipated.
