In response to COVID-19, the VBS will be a three-day virtual event through Zoom with the theme “Trusting God.” A coalition of Warren community churches, led by First Presbyterian, First United Methodist, First Lutheran, and Grace United Methodists, and including other churches, provide the opportunity. Participants will get together from 6-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. The target age group of children in grades kindergarten through fifth and there is no requirement that children attend any of the participating churches to attend the VBS. Anyone interested in joining will find more information, including a registration form, at the VBS Facebook page — @WarrenCommunityVBS. “Each year we have a charity that we attempt to assist locally,” VBS coordinator for First Presbyterian Joanna Elletson said. This year, the organization is the Salvation Army and monetary and food donations are welcome. “With everything that’s going on and their increased traffic flow, we are looking to help stock their pantry,” Elletson said. “Donations can be dropped off at any of the Firsts.”
