Several members of the Sanford Saddles and Spurs 4-H Club recently participated in a , the East-West Challenge. The competition was spread over three weeks and 4-H members could compete in one, two, or all three weeks if they choose. There were a variety of topics, all horse-related, but you could compete without leaving your home if you were not able to use your horse. The topics ranged in difficulty with advanced 4-H members designing trail and jumping patterns, while less-experienced members could present on horse breeds or parts of horse tack. Hialeah Stanton presented on the Cutback pattern. Nora Morton presented on horse breeds. Avery Morton presented on colors of horses. Alaina Ongley presented on pony breeds, and Evelyn Ongley completed all three weeks, presenting on pasture management, barn safety, and parts of the English bridle.
