Cambridge Warren has delivered a record-setting collection of warm winter socks to the Warren Area School District, bringing an end to its second Warm Socks Drive.

The seniors and staff at Cambridge Warren collected 535 pairs of socks — five times as many socks as last year, the year Cambridge Warren began its Warm Socks Drive.

The warm winter socks were delivered to the Warren Area Schools administrative offices this morning. The socks will be sorted for distribution to kids in Warren County and given out between now and Christmas.

“The Warm Socks Drive is a chance for our seniors to feel connected to the community,” said Cambridge Warren Executive Director Karen Lucks. “Our seniors love to help and they are especially passionate about young people. We are all grateful for everyone who supported the drive.”

With the residents and staff of Cambridge Warren, many local businesses and groups pitched in to support the drive including Molly Dies Dance Studio, Warren Lady Dragons Basketball Team, Warren County 4-H, Darling’s Home Care, and Lawson Brothers Quality Auto.
