Family benefit

Friends of the Campbell Family are holding a benefit for them on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at the Busti Church of God, 996 Forest Ave. Ext., Jamestown. It is a pasta bar and basket raffle.

Tickets for the dinner are $10 for adults, $6 for children age 6 to 12, and children age 5 and under are admitted free.

Brandon, 32, and Stacey, 28, Campbell are a married couple who both have been diagnosed with cancer. They have two young children and recently bought a home. Due to receiving treatment, neither are able to work at this time.

Genealogists to meet

The Warren County Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at the 1st Lutheran Church. The program for the evening will be “Speak My Name and I Shall Live Again,” a PBS presentation. This program demonstrates the importance of oral history interviews and diligent genealogical research to achieve extraordinary results. There will also be an opportunity for guests and members to seek research assistance and to share success stories with the group. Bob Duffy will provide refreshments.

The society welcomes anyone interested in family history and research. Call 723-8026 for additional information.

Craft show

The Winter Wonderland Craft Show, sponsored by Youngsville Fireman’s Auxiliary, will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Youngsville Fire Hall. Admission is free. There will be 108 craft tables, and food will be available. There will also be a Chinese Auction. For information, call 563-4042 or 726-4904.

The Warren County Democrats will hold their monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Jefferson DeFrees Center, 207 Second Ave., Warren.

There will be a trash and treasure bingo game at the Allegheny Community Center on Thursday, November 27, from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.

Thanksgiving meal canceled

St. Francis Episcopal Church will not be hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner at the church this year. Parishioners will instead be directing their efforts toward helping The Holiday Hot Meals Ministry.

Thanksgiving dinner date correction

The Salvation Army annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, at St. Joseph’s Church, Pennsylvania Avenue, and Hazel Street, Warren.

Monetary donations to help the effort, as well as donations of turkeys and pies, are welcome. Volunteers are also needed for serving and clean-up. Those interested in contributing or looking for more information may call 723-8950.
