Hill & Dale Garden Club meets in December

The Hill & Dale Garden Club held its December 2016 meeting on Dec. 14 at New Beginnings Restaurant in Sugar Grove, with 21 in attendance.

Ruth Ann DeVore handed out a sheet asking for information to update the 2017 garden club books. The 2017 books will be handed out at the March meeting at which time dues of $10 will be collected.

Eleanor Johnson, president, opened the meeting with devotions provided by Carol Eckert, but read by Peg Stino. The meeting was opened at 12:45 p.m. and several thank-you notes were read. The secretaries report was read and then the treasurer reported. The Sunshine committee reported the new balance is $72.39.

The gifts that everyone brought were auctioned off by Yvonne Lee and the club made $90, plus Carol Eckert had made a beautiful wreath and it was auctioned for $25, so $115 was made for the club.

Poinsettias were purchased and given to Marilyn Spear, Phyllis Maze, Eleanor Johnson and Elizabeth McMillen and delivered by several members.

Dan Ristau from Ring Around A Rosey talked about making wreaths.

Rouse Home Bingo prizes were brought to this meeting and June Natale took them to the Rouse Home.
