Wilcox teen selected for Sundance Film Festival internship

Jimmy Elinski, son of Jimbo and Kathy Elinski, of Wilcox, has been selected for an internship at the Sundance Film Festival through the Creative Minds Group.

Creative Minds is a group dedicated to finding the next generation of talented film and TV professionals and ushering them into the entertainment industry. The Creative Minds Internship Experience is the group?s most competitive and highly sought after program component, as only a select number of interns per festival are accepted. Creative Minds receives over 1,000 applications annually from prospective participants worldwide, from which only 25-30 applicants are chosen. The Creative Minds Internship Experience is geared towards individuals with career aspirations to work in the Film and Television industry. The unique experience affords the participants an opportunity to work intimately with a Film or Television company in a department pertinent to the participant?s career goals. It also provides the participants with an opportunity to prove themselves with a company that could hire them and launch their career. The program consists of an internship with a noteworthy Film or Television company, follow up assistance with post festival job securing, and access to exclusive parties and networking events.

Jimmy completed an extensive application process, including an introduction video, essay questions, resume and letter of recommendation.

The internship will take place in Park City, Utah, January 18-25, 2017, where, in 1991, Robert Redford and friends created an environment designed to foster independence, discovery and new voices in American film.

Since, the Sundance Institute has grown into an internationally recognized resource for thousands of independent film, theatre and music artists and gave birth to the Sundance Film Festival, held in and around Park City Utah, each January. Widely considered the premier platform for American and international Independent Film, the Festival has introduced audiences to some of the most original stories of the last three decades, including Blaire Witch Project, Saw, Winter?s Bone, Precious and Little Miss Sunshine.

Jimmy is a 2016 graduate of Johnsonburg High School and a freshman at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, majoring in Cinema Production.
