Wedding

Clark — Bauer

Julia Mercy Bauer and Solomon David Clark were united in holy matrimony outdoors at the home of the groom’s parents on May 16, 2020, a beautiful spring afternoon with birds singing and the sun shining.

The bride is the daughter of David and Laura Bauer of Sugar Grove and the groom’s parents are David and Christine Clark of Pittsfield. Pastor PJ Cathcart of the Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church officiated the Christian ceremony.

The bride was escorted across the lawn by her father. She wore a white A line Kenneth Winston gown with a fitted detailed bodice, a full flowing skirt and a cathedral length veil. She carried a bouquet of O’hara garden roses, spray roses, ranunculus, lisianthus and cushion poms with eucalyptus and Italian ruscas. The bride and her maid of honor, Ms. Courtney Jewell of Rochester, NY, designed and arranged the bridal and attendant bouquets.

The groom’s sisters, Arielle of Boulder, Colo., Lydia, and Gracia Clark of Pittsfield were attending to the bride along with the bride’s college roommate Hannah Schuller of Washington, D.C., and Lacey Stanko of Sugar Grove. The groomsmen were the bride’s brothers August, Josef, and Benjamin, all of Sugar Grove, along with Grant Gens of Russell and the groom’s cousin Christian Blick of Youngsville. The groom chose his father to be his best man.

The bride prior to COVID had invited numerous nieces to be her flower girls, but only Elle and Cait Savage were able to attend from Clarence, N.Y. Their mother, Stephanie Savage, of Savage desserts made the three-tier wedding cake for her cousin, Julia. Harry Cathcart stepped up to be the ring bearer when the groom’s Colorado cousin was unable to travel. All three children did a stunning job.

A reception followed under a beautiful white wedding tent dressed with vintage china and fresh flowers. Merriment and dancing continued onto the lawn and patio decorated with white flowers, tiny white lights, and a wood fire. The evening ended with sparklers and applause.

The bride received a bachelor of science degree from Grove City College in 2019 and is currently a physician assistant student at Mercyhurst College. The groom is a 2020 graduate of Liberty Univerisity in Lynchburg, Va., and works for Clark Oil.

The couple resides in Pleasant Township and intends to make Warren County their home.
