Family and friends recently gathered at the Deer Head Inn, Spring Creek, Pa., to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jukes of Bear Lake. Paul and the former Evangeline Fink were united in marriage on Oct. 7, 1967, at the Nazarene Chapel, Finleyville, Pa., by the Rev. Walter King, a close friend of the bride’s family.

Mr. and Mrs. Jukes have resided in Lottsville, Pa., for over 43 years. Mrs. Jukes retired in 2009 after 25 years as a Quality Control Merchandise Inspector for Blair Corporation.

Mr. Jukes retired in 2000 after 42 years as a widely published nature photographer and contributing writer for numerous local, state, regional, and national publications.

He was also the Outdoors Editor for Valley Publishing Company’s Valley Voice for 31 years.

The couple will continue their celebration with a trip to Las Vegas, then return to their homes in North Carolina and Florida where they have spent the winter months since 2010.
