Dragons beat Olean for 14th win to close regular season

OLEAN, N.Y. – Warren’s baseball team got one final tune-up in Monday before starting its playoff run later this week. The Dragons traveled to Olean (NY) and came away with a 3-1 win over the Huskies. Austyn Cummings homered and three pitchers combined to limit Olean to just two hits on the day. Warren (14-6) got on the board early. Warren softball D-10 quarterfinal moved

Poor field conditions at Penn State Behrend put Warren’s District 10 softball quarterfinal on hold for one day. The two teams, who were supposed to play Monday at 5 p.m., will now play today at 1 p.m. at the same location. It’s part of a quadruple-header at the home of the Lions. Harbor Creek and Conneaut play at 11 a.m. and the winner of that game will face the winner of Warren-Hickory in the semifinals on Thursday. At 3 and 5 are a pair of Class 3A games – North East vs. Corry and Titusville vs. Girard. Full playoff pairing can be found on page B-3.

Warren tops Meadville

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Warren jumped out to a big lead early, lost it, and built it right back again in a 13-6 win at Meadville Thursday. The Dragons built a 6-1 lead through the first 2 1/2 innings, but the Bulldogs came back to tie it at 6-6 after four. Warren plated three each in the fifth and sixth and one more in the seventh to put the game away.
