3-on-3 hoopsThe 7th annual McDonald's 3-on-3 March Madness Youth Basketball Tournament will be held Saturday, March 21, at the Lakewood Family YMCA. The proceeds from this tournament will help provide scholarships for children attending YMCA Summer Camp Programs.There will be both a boys and girls tournament, which is open to all youth in grades 3 through 12, and divisions will be grades 3 and 4, 5 and 6, 7 and 8, 9 and 10, and 11 and 12, respectively, with separate teams for boys and girls. Big 30 footballThe Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Classic announced the addition of four Warren County products to the 2015 game: Warren's Ryan Shattuck and Mitch Labesky as well as Eisenhower's Chris Sanders and Jarrett Johnson. Shattuck played receiver and safety along with handling kicking duties for the Dragons while Labesky worked on the offensive and defensive line. For the Knights, Sanders was a center and outside linebacker and Johnson played receiver and defensive back. Big Fish TriathlonThe Big Fish Tri kicks off its third season at 8 a.m. on June 6. This year the event will include a sprint distance to encourage newcomers to the swim, bike, and running sport.Big Fish Tri is the only triathlon on Chautauqua Lake, and is held at YMCA Camp Onyahsa in Dewittville, N.Y. The race is highly organized and sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), and is a total volunteer effort. College newsEisenhower High School graduate Jacob VanHouten was part of Slippery Rock University's winning 4x400-meter relay team at this weekend's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships.
