Tuesday afternoon at the Allegheny Community Center, Joanne Massa placed first with Diane Callahan in second. At the Woman’s Club Thursday afternoon, Tana Fegely and Peggy Morgan were first and second. Ellen Ruffalo and Valerie Cawley were first and second Thursday evening at the library.

Indivisible to meet

Indivisible Warren PA will hold its bimonthly meeting on Thursday, August 10, 6:30 PM, in the Hawke Room, Joseph DeFrees Center, 207 Second Avenue, Warren. All are welcome.

ACA announcements

Allegheny Center for the Arts is pleased to announce the winners of the July page for the Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry/ACA “Warren County Wonders 2018.” First place goes to James Muscaro for “Longhorn Love.” Second place goes to Carl Leichtenberger for “Bald Eagle Focused.” Third place goes to James Muscaro for “Morning at Oakland.”

Photos are now being accepted for Aug. Photos may be sent until Aug 25th. See our website for the rules for the contest. We have great beauty in our county. Have fun trying to capture some of our wonders.

If you would like to have fun learning within that creative side of yourself, check out the classes being offered at ACA. There is time to sign up for our fall offerings. Some teachers need students signed up two weeks ahead of the class. Fall classes are being scheduled and start up dates will be posted as teachers decide on dates and times for classes. AOC events planned

On Sunday, August 13, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will kayak or canoe on the Allegheny River from Tidioute to West Hickory. Participants will meet at the boat ramp in Tidioute Park at 1:00 p.m. For more information call Dennis Anderson at (716)969-9772.

On Sunday, August 20, the AOC will kayak or canoe on Edinboro Lake in Edinboro. Participants will meet at 2:00 p.m. at the public Lakeside Boat Ramp on Lakeside Drive just south of Pat Crawford Beach and north of James Hagerty Memorial Park in Edinboro. Plans are to dine at a restaurant overlooking the lake afterward. For more information call Debra Young at (814) 730-8388.
