The Warren General Hospital Auxiliary Board of Directors met in June at the Jackson Valley Golf Club for their annual luncheon to close out the 2018-2019 fiscal year, recognize retiring members, and welcome new board members.

President Linda Keverline conducted a short business meeting sharing information about the Auxiliary budget and installing Stephanie Freitag as vice-president and Ginny Barrett as treasurer. Mrs. Keverline recognized and thanked retiring board members Gloria and Bob Merenick for their nine years of dependable, dedicated service to the Auxiliary, overseeing the hospital’s Christmas decorating and working many fundraising events.

Valerie Cawley and Joyce Yeagle each received a token gift for their service as committee chairpersons.

New board members are Pat Scutella, Beth Ellsworth, Sue Borland, Janet Jespersen, and Gail Wright; each will serve for three years.

This past year, the Auxiliary board, through its many fundraising events, was able to provide the following support to WGH patients and departments: two centrifuges for the Hospital Lab, three medical-grade refrigerators for the Pharmacy Department, a food processor and a toaster for the Dietary Department, a contribution to the WGH Wellness Walk, funds for the Valet Parking Service, five healthcare scholarships, coloring books and crayons for hospital waiting areas, many items for the Occupational/Speech Therapy Department, flower bulbs which were planted around the outside of the hospital, and the first of three years of funding for RQI (Resuscitation Quality Improvement), a training program/mannequin.
