Struthers Library Theater opens full fall/winter schedule

Warren has a lot of talent – and some of it will be on display this week.

The fall lineup at the theater begins with the Warren Players putting on “Oliver” beginning Thursday, Oct. 2, and ending Sunday, Oct. 5. “Oliver” is Lionel Bart’s “twist” and timeless musical adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens’ “Oliver Twist.” The Warren Players group is one of the nation’s longest continuously running amateur theatre groups since 1931.

Show times are 7 p.m. Oct. 2-4 with doors opening at 6 p.m. The cost is $22 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and $18 for students. Children ages 5 and under are free.

The Ghost Tour will be given in the theater on Oct. 6 and Oct. 8 from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

The historical haunted walking tour tells the many stories about the stage, the masonic lodge and frightening encounters in the building.

Fans of Johnny Cash can see the tribute to Cash by Terry Lee Goffee on Friday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. as Yankee Bush Productions holds its first fall tribute concert of 2025. Goffee has performed the tribute for more than 15 years..

Next on the calendar is the Halloween-themed Roots Rising show. Those who enjoy an alternative-country music experience can attend the performance by Iris Marlowe on Saturday, Oct. 11, at Sally’s Encore Theatre Bar.

Admission is free. The bar opens at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 8 p.m. Halloween attire is encouraged.

That’s just the beginning of entertainment going on for the month of October at the Struthers Library Theater.

The War of the Worlds, a live, dramatic radio play, is a story from the 1930s that scared a nation. It will be showing Oct. 16-19, sponsored by the Community Foundation of Warren County. The show is performed live with audience interaction. Seats are limited. Performances are 7 p.m. Oct. 16-18 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19. Tickets for adults are $20, students and seniors cost $18. On Oct. 22 and Oct. 24, at 7 p.m., the theater will play a double feature of 1931’s Frankenstein and Dracula. The cost is $8 for adults, $6 for students and senior citizens.

The annual Rocky Horror Picture Show free karaoke show will be held Saturday, Oct. 25. It is followed by an interactive show. The cost is $20 for adults and $18 for seniors and students.
