Thomas James LeTrent

Thomas James LeTrent loving Husband, Father, Papa and Brother passed away at the age of 84 on Oct. 1, 2023, at the Tidewell Hospice Home in Sarasota, FL. Tom was born in Warren, PA on Nov. 2, 1938, to Joseph J. LeTrent and Ethel I. (Anderson) LeTrent. Tom grew up on the west end of Warren where he met his beautiful loving wife Mary Karen Nichols. Tom graduated from Warren High School and was a proud member of the 1956 undefeated football team. Tom (Birddog) was a talented softball player and played many years on several teams in the Warren area. After graduation Tom enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. Tom worked at Deluxe Metal then working for his Father-in-Law, Michael Nichols at Nichols Service Center. Tom later opened his own Keystone gas station in North Warren. In 1986 Tom and Karen moved to Sarasota, FL where Tom owned and operated one of the largest Toro dealerships in Bradenton FL for 25 years.

Tom and Karen were married in 1959 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Warren, PA. Tom enjoyed spending time with his wife walking the local beaches, having a good dinner and taking care of his beautiful home. Tom loved his family, he loved spending time with his children and Grandchildren. He enjoyed all his dogs over the year’s most recently Ben, Luke and Lily. Tom’s generosity was above and beyond regardless of who you were. Tom was a devoted Catholic being a member of St. Joseph Church, Warren, PA and St. Martha’s Church, Sarasota, FL.

Tom is proceeded in death by his father Joseph J. LeTrent, Ethel I. LeTrent, Marlene (LeTrent) Peterson, Michelle A. LeTrent and Daniel J. LeTrent.

Tom is survived by his beautiful wife Mary Karen LeTrent, Brother Richard L. LeTrent Bedford, PA, Daughter Lisa L. (Gary) West, Sugar Grove, PA, Son Thomas J. LeTrent Jr. Meadville, PA, Grandchildren Taylor R. (Cade) Hefferman, Warren, PA, Kayla R. West, Riley T. West of Sugar Grove, PA, Amanda K. (Jeff) Moore, Pittsburgh, PA, Brittany L (Devon) Lauger, Bear Lake, PA Alyssa D. LeTrent Bradenton, FL, Great Grand Children Colter Hefferman, Atlas Moore, Phoenix Moore, Gracelynn Lauger and Sawyer Lauger, Daughter-In-Law Heidi Sagar, Bradenton, FL.
