Youngsville students being released to parents
With the status of a fugitive who is reportedly armed and dangerous unknown, Warren County School District is taking precautions with school dismissals in the Youngsville area.
In a short news release, JPD said it is looking to speak with Michael C. Burham. He is believed to be in the Jamestown or Warren, Pa., areas.
Jamestown (N.Y) police reported Thursday afternoon that they are seeking Michael C. Burham, who was believed to be in the Jamestown or Warren areas.
There was heightened police activity especially in the Youngsville area Thursday morning and Youngsville schools were placed on a secure lockout with no one allowed in nor out.
Those schools are being dismissed by parent pick-up.
“Buses will not be transporting students home from Youngsville Elementary School or Youngsville Middle High School today,” according to a Thursday afternoon release. “Without knowing if the threat is or will be contained by the end of school… we are not comfortable allowing students to walk home or to walk from the bus to their homes.”
“Students will be dismissed to parents or emergency contacts with photo identification. All students will need to physically be signed out.
The elementary concert has been postponed and 21st Century programming to be held at the schools is canceled.
Baseball and softball games have been relocated to Legion Fields in North Warren.
