ERIE — The Eisenhower Knights played their third game in four days, falling to Mercyhurst Prep 13-3 in Region 3 softball Tuesday. Eisenhower scored twice in the first inning, thanks to an RBI triple down the first-base line from Marli Rectenwald and an Abbie Darr sacrifice fly. Mercyhurst got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first, but gave that run back to the Knights with an error in the second inning. Erie outlasts Dragons 9-8 in 12

Erie High needed almost two full games to defeat Warren on Monday afternoon at Old Legion Field. In a dramatic back-and-forth battle between the visiting Royals and the Dragons, 12 innings were required to determine the winner. Unfortunately for the home team, they could not overcome a two-run 12th inning and lost 9-8. The Royals struck first, opening an early 3-0 lead after the first inning. Warren Post 135 Junior Legion Baseball will be holding a tryout for the 2026 season on Sunday, April 26 at old legion field, 10 Plummer St., Warren — rain or shine — at 3 p.m. Age range 13-17 years old. Players must turn 13 in the year 2026 and not turn 18 in the year 2026. This is a competitive league that runs from May 20 through early July. Players must reside in Warren County, but due to Legion Bylaws, can be from the Lakewood/Jamestown area of New York, as well.
