Spring sports in limbo after school closure

The spring sports season across the state has joined winter championships in a state of limbo after Governor Tom Wolf announced a statewide closure of schools Friday in response to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. The boys and girls basketball tournaments and 2A swimming and diving championships were postponed for two weeks by the PIAA Thursday. Friday’s announcement means their spring counterparts, baseball, softball, track and field, lacrosse, boys tennis and boys volleyball are all on hiatus across the state for the next two weeks as well.
