Union City tops Ike 13-0

UNION CITY — The Eisenhower Knights traveled to Union City on Thursday and lost 13-0 in Region 3 softball. The Bears used a big second inning as they pushed seven runs across the plate. Kimmie Zielinski and her sister, Alivia, both doubled home two runs, as the home team opened up a 7-0 lead. Union City added to its lead by adding four runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth. The Bears outhit Eisenhower 13-4. Warren beats Meadville 4-1

It was a beautiful day for some tennis at Betts Park on Thursday. It was even more satisfying as the Warren boys took care of business as they defeated the Meadville Bulldogs 4-1 in a Region 2 clash. “It was nice to finally get a couple home matches in for our boys this year,” Dragons head coach Thomas Pellegrino said. “We got some new faces in the varsity lineup today, and were able to secure a spot in the district team finals in a few weeks. Knights come up short in Erie

ERIE — The Eisenhower Knights came up just short in their game against Iroquois on Thursday at Mercyhurst University, falling 8-6 in Region 3 baseball. The Knights jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning only to see the Braves make up the deficit and take a 3-2 in the bottom of the inning thanks to a Rex Brown double. The Braves added a pair of runs in the second inning and another run in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 6-2 lead into the sixth inning. Carlson’s 25 leads Warren over Tidioute

Warren’s Zane Carlson shot Warren’s first perfect score of the season Tuesday as he hit all 25 clay targets in the Dragons’ 162-145 win over Tidioute. The score of 162 is currently the Dragons’ high team total on the season. Twenty-one out of 39 shooters broke at least 20 targets. The junior varsity squad was also victorious by a score of 144-75. Warren softball falls to Erie

The Warren girls softball team was defeated Thursday by the visiting Erie Royals 13-5. The Dragons had a solid day offensively as they had six hits from Alexis Jones (2 for 4, two RBIs), Peyton Hagg (2 for 3, RBI), Alanna Warrior (1 for 4, two RBIs) and Bristol Holden (1 for 2). On the mound for the Dragons was Olivia Romanosky, who pitched two-thirds of an inning, then Bristol Holden, went the final 6 ⅓ innings. The Dragons have a day off, then are back at it Saturday as they host the Meadville Bulldogs at 11 a.m at Lady Dragons Field.
