GREENSBURG -- The Warren YMCA Powerhouse gymnastics team recently competed against nine other teams at the YMCA Greensburg Invitational, a meet featuring 202 gymnasts from across eastern Pennsylvania and New York. Despite having only nine of its 28 gymnasts able to attend, the Powerhouse team represented Warren with determination and strong grit.
Leading the way for Warren were Riley Hultman and MiKaylee Massa, who claimed individual event championships in the Level 6 Junior Division. Hultman captured first on balance beam with a score of 9.10; and Massa earned first place on floor exercise with an outstanding score of 9.65.
The Level 6 team also delivered an impressive accomplishment, earning the second-place team award with a score of 69.20, finishing just 0.80 points shy of first place.
What made the accomplishment even more remarkable is that the team consisted of only three gymnasts: Hultman, Massa and Ellie Sahli. Their determination, teamwork, and strong performances helped secure the runner-up finish against much larger teams.
