The Warren girls volleyball team defeated a tough Harbor Creek squad Thursday evening at Warren Area High School.
The Dragons displayed an offensive barrage, with three hitters notching double-digit kills in the 25-17, 25-23, 25-15 sweep of the Huskies. Brynn Norris had a stellar night as she recorded 45 assists; Lara Pearson and Hailey Cabisca each notched 13 kills, Attie Corey had 11, and Julia Getner and Brooke Sherry had five apiece. Paiden Johnson played well, collecting 13 digs and three aces, and Malysia Sorensen chipped in 12 digs and four aces.
"That’s some of the best volleyball we’ve played this season," Warren head coach Mike Dolan said. "The offense looked especially good as we hit .345 as a team with 51 kills in three sets. The back-row defense again gave Brynn (Norris) lots of opportunities to move the ball around to our hitters and she did a great job with her distributions. We are looking to keep the momentum going this weekend at the Fairview Tournament."
In junior varsity play, the Huskies defeated the Dragons 25-17, 18-25, 15-6.
Following are the individual statistics: Marie Malczyk two kills, two blocks; Taylor Swanson two kills, three blocks; Monica Malczyk four digs; Alice Pearson two aces, two digs; Luci Salvatore three kills, five digs; Kelsey Johnson five digs; Kendall Skerda 11 digs; and Lexi Nuhfer five assists and two blocks.
