It was a tough night for the Eisenhower soccer teams Monday night as the boys lost at home to nonregion North Clarion 7-0, while the girls took the long bus ride to Girard and lost 3-0 in Region 3 play.
In the boys game, North Clarion jumped out early, scoring their first goals just four minutes into the game and adding another goal two minutes later as they built a 4-0 halftime lead and never looked back.
North Clarion added three second-half goals to make the final 7-0.
In girls action, the Knights held Girard scoreless until the 10-minute mark of the first half before Girard's Charlotte Iszkula found the back of the net to make it 1-0. That score would hold up through halftime.
The Knights had shots on goal but could not get one between the posts.
"Offensively, we had opportunities we just could not take advantage of them," said Eisenhower head coach Ashley Elms.
Girard's Aliyah Arndt added a pair of goals in the second half to make the final score 3-0.
