HARBOR CREEK -- The Warren High School and Beaty Warren Middle School teams did nothing but impress Saturday as they competed in the annual Dirty Dawg Invitational. Throughout the four races, seven Dragons took home hardware led by Emma Peterson, who won the 77-athlete varsity girls race. Peterson's time of 19:58.29 was the only sub-20 minute time in the event.

"Emma did a phenomenal job, leading more than half of the race by more than 75 yards," said head coach Michelle Johnson. "Her dedication and continued hard work is paying off."

Also racing well and placing high was Nina Woldt, coming in sixth place with a time of 20:55.61.

In the varsity boys race, Leyton Salvatore (17:22.37) came in 10th, Cole Fitzgerald (17:25.59) 11th and Grayson Collopy (17:37.34) in 18th place, all receiving medals. Channing Nuhfer and Chase Fetzeck were the next two Dragons to cross the line, helping the varsity boys take third place overall in the team event.

Elsie Woldt earned a stellar second-place individual finish in the junior high girls race with a time of 13:39.07, good for a medal. The final medal winner was Curtis McGraw for the junior high boys. McGraw ran a 13:10.95 pace, good for eighth overall.

"All runners did a great job," Johnson added. "Channing Nuhfer along with teammates Liam Baldensperger, Mason Chapman and Trenton Wright all ran varsity season personal bests. This was the longest distance the junior high kids have run and they all still kicked it at the end."

The Dragons head to Eisenhower on Wednesday to take on the Knights at 4 p.m.
