Knights XC shines at McQuaid Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Eisenhower Knights cross country team was on the road this weekend as they competed in the 61st annual McQuaid Invitational. Held at Genesee Valley Park, the prestigious and sought after event hosted over 6,500 student-athletes from across the United States and even Canada. Schools are divided into groups based on their size with each race featuring hundreds of racers.

The Knights varsity girls squad ran in the A-1 Small School race that featured 295 total runners. Freshman dual-sport athlete Josie Elms continues to impress as she earned a 58th place individual finish, followed by Izzy Grosch in 83rd. Haley Ferrie ended in 230th, and Addy Britt was in 240th place.

The varsity boys were also in the A-1 Small School race and earned a 6th place team finish out of 49, paced by Parker McBride's 27th individual finish out of 370 total runners. Also competing for the Knights were Mason Britt in 59th, Alex Lund in 65th, Joseph Fanellie in 100th, Cameron Lindell in 104th, Brice Ludwick in 117th, and Dylan Shaffer in 320th place.

Kaylee Ferino had a stellar race, coming in 18th place out of 245 total junior high girls runners in the Small Schools division. Naveen Mead earned a 35th place finish, with Evelina Carlson in 38th, and Lillian Ishman right behind in 39th place.

The junior high boys were in the Small Schools division, with Grant Criswell pacing the Knights in 31st overall out of 352 runners, followed by Zachary Ayers in 35th. Also competing were Andrew Grosch in 233rd and Derek Leach in 276th.

The Knights head to North East on Tuesday to take on the Grape Pickers at 4 p.m.
