RUSSELL -- The Eisenhower boys soccer team likely played its last game of the 2026 season Tuesday, but the Knights (5-11-1, 2-8) did not make it easy on Region 4 leader Mercyhurst Prep before falling 6-3.

The Lakers came into the game undefeated in region play and got on the scoreboard just three minutes in. The lead was short lived as Eisenhower's Rever Caudill found the back of the net just 12 seconds later to knot the score at 1-1.

Mercyhurst Prep tallied three more goals in the first half to take a 4-1 lead and then added two more goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half. The Knights' Mason Degnan took a corner pass from Caudill and his shot ricocheted off a Lakers player, but Degnan sent the rebound into the net to cut the lead to 6-2 with eight minutes remaining in the game.

Caudill scored Eisenhower's last goal on a breakaway with 3:36 remaining.

"It was a positive way to end a disappointing season," Eisenhower head coach Michael Taylor said. "I was proud of the effort today and want to give special mention to both Caudill and Degnan. Those two have poured their heart and soul into the program, as well as all of our seniors, Easton Fitzgerald, Keaton Destro, Michael Rutsky, Carsyn Branstrom and Isaiah Reagle. We will certainly miss all of them."
